I saw about 15 minutes and really liked it, but I'm not really familiar with his stuff I'm afraid so I'll bow down to someone else's expert knowledge on this.

Re: End of the Road Festival

And I missed Alan Sparhawk javelining his guitar into the crowd, which everyone else was talking about on Sunday. Strictly speaking I think it was thrown more in the manner of the hammer than a javelin... I don't think anyone was hit - they managed to scatter in time which is incredibly lucky given...

Re: End of the Road Festival

I have wellies and waterproof trousers and a waterproof jacket and a self-inflating mattress and a compact pillow and a three-man tent all to myself. In due course I will have wine and pain au chocolat. I AM READY TO ROCK!

'I Am A Bird Now' is a stunning album -I'll lend you it sometime. I'm not quite sure how he/they will follow it to be honest though.

Oh, I like that Komon song and video. With Pete playing too, I think I'll have to try get along to this.

Re: Tues Sept 9th - Darren Hanlon at Brixton Windmill

Excellent. I've even checked what bus I need to get from the Windmill to Oval afterwards so I will probably break my weeknight Brixton boycott for this. I'm stewarding when he's on at End of the Road and I think it's overly optimistic to think that I'll have the energy to see him the following Monda...

Having just seen and heard Noah and the Whale and Devon Sproule for the first time on BBC4's coverage of the Cambridge Folk Festival, I am officially EVEN MORE EXCITED about this.

Ha, a cracking 4-0 dicking for Neil Warnock at our place last night. Lovely!

Please can we have the scum or the Geordies at our place in the next round so I can pretend it's like the old days?

Re: End of the Road Festival

I inadvertantly got sent the stage times earlier in a handy Word document. Unfortunately I have no idea how to convert that into something I can post on here. The important news is that my stewarding shifts mean that the only people I know I'm disappointed about missing are Darren Hanlon, Shearwater...

Re: Indietracks 2008 photos and memories

Walking to work today I was remembering the late night platform set on the Sunday. An ace moment was while the Smittens sang Stop The Bombs and got to the line "Pocketbooks, these guys are crooks." Some of Pocketbooks were standing right behind the seats where The Smittens were performing, and the ...
