Re: Scrabble (and related games, for example Wordfeud)

I still play Wordfeud against this one guy who lives on a Caribbean Island and has just been hitting 'rematch' after every game we've played for 2+ years now. I was way ahead in our most recent game, but he managed to land two incredible moves right at the end, scoring huge points with each of them:...

Re: Frankie Machine

Lovely stuff, although it's deeply weird finally hearing the 'studio' versions of some of the songs from that Indietracks set that I recorded 4 years ago. I feel nostalgic about something brand new? Anyway it's bloody brilliant. When's the next one out? :)

Re: 'Orrors

I'm not really a Raimi fan, so that's about as positive as I get for him. I'd definitely say it's one of his best films though, and I did enjoy it quite a bit. I liked the ending of Peeping Tom and it looked really fantastic (as usual) but I really struggled to get on with most of the cast. The lead...

Re: 'Orrors

Heresy on "Peeping Tom" there. I know. I'm not sure what happened, I've loved the other Michael Powell films that I've seen but it just really, really didn't click with me. I actually found it quite upsetting that I didn't enjoy it as it was one of the main films I was looking forward to seeing thi...

Re: 'Orrors

I really liked Creep and Housebound. I've been meaning to check out Let's Scare Jessica To Death ever since I spotted it on Netflix but I've got such a ridiculous backlog of DVDs to get through that I keep neglecting the streaming stuff. I'm about 40 films into this year's horror marathon at this po...

Re: short films and animations

I helped a friend make a short film over the weekend, for a "make a film in 48 hours" competition thing (organised by the Colchester Film Festival).

He did the animation, I did the sound / music / talking.

Re: Trust Fund

I'm not sure whether everyone already knows about this (probably), but there are some earlier recordings on the Trust Fund bandcamp (pre-Don't Let Them Begin) which are really keyboard-heavy and quite different from the more recent stuff... I happened to spot them on there last week and I can't stop...

This is pretty great! 'Someone to Love' is one of those songs where it already feels like a classic the first time I hear it.

I really liked it too. Excellent atmosphere, and the soundtrack worked really well. Definitely lived up to the hype.

Re: The Radio Dept.

<3 Every year we write to them to play Indietracks and every year they politely decline and every year we'll keep writing because what a band. Haha, now I feel better about putting them at the top of my request list every year! What a band indeed. I hope I get the chance to see them live at some po...

Sounds really good, too.

Re: last.fm

I had an app on my iPhone called CloudScrob that picked up plays from other apps and sent them to Last.FM. I assume they will have updated it to cope with Apple Music, but I can't confirm, as I abandoned Apple forever when they forced Bono on me.
