Re: Drumming

I'm having a go at being a drummer next week. I've never really done it before so tweeted that I wanted to start a band I could drum in and someone actually replied so now I have to do it. So, drumming. I'm gonna buy some sticks and I can rent breakables from the practice place. I kind of know how ...

Re: Nottingham

Hurrah! There's a national express coach at 13.45 getting in to Leicester at 14:30 for £4.60. Shall we do that? Sounds good, let's do it. Do you want to book two tickets so we don't somehow accidentally get different coaches and then I'll give you some internet monies or some cash monies? I don't h...

Re: Nottingham

Who's going to the Leicester thing tomorrow? I'd like to come too, but wanted to travel down with someone else who knows where they are going. I'm going, Lisa. We can go together. I've not booked my transportation yet. Hurrah! There's a national express coach at 13.45 getting in to Leicester at 14:...

Re: London Popfest 2013 - 1 to 3 March 2013

I wish I could go to Popfests and gigs to the point of being bored of them and writing internet complaints. Until they start running creches at gigs I hardly ever get to go. I'm well jel of everyone who got to go to London Popfest and if anyone is bored and wants to come to my house and babysit I wi...

Re: gender equality and indiepop

The problem is, the original article has been heavily edited and cut since it was first posted. It originally had a lot more conclusions and suggestions which did boil down to urging promoters to adopt quotas as a solution. The following anorak discussion was based on the original article, and not h...

Re: gender equality and indiepop

Yeah I totally agree with that, but talking about the stats, getting male promoters to actually be conscious of whether they are as enlightened and feminist as they think they are and to be held accountable for being part of the problem* isn't the same as enforcing a quota, no one is seriously talk...

Re: gender equality and indiepop

This quota thing, I dunno, it all seems the wrong way round to me, it's reformism over revolution. Reform never gets us what we want, all it can achieve at best is to make the status quo slightly less bad, and I don't know why we should settle for that. We need to take a more revolutionary approach,...

We have feet too, you know! It's not all Grimsby haddock and fennel pollen round here. Tuesday 22nd for Lisa pub club, Londons? We could maybe go back to Wapping to the Town of Ramsgate, or try the Prospect of Whitby. Wow, don't you have posh pub names in London? The Prospect of Whitby sounds like ...

Hello London!

Does anyone fancy a pub club sometime between Monday 21st and Thursday 23rd January? I'm staying just south of Tower Bridge that week, and it would be lovely to see people that aren't feet people for a bit.

Re: Your Indietracks 2013 wishlist

I mainly go for the excellent toileting facilities so you can put on whoever you want, I'll go regardless. There's something amazing about seeing bands at indietracks with a massive crowd, when you've only ever seen them play to 40 people in a tiny pub before. If you did a three year rule then half ...

Re: questions about feet

Check out Sherlock Knibbles! I have gone from mostly carpeted and laminate, to proper wooden floors throughout. My shoes are flat. What can I do? You need to move house. Immediately. Don't stop to collect your belongings, this is a foot emergency. Alternatively, you could ask Father Christmas very ...
