Re: 2015, then...

What happens to the uber -indiepop bands who are just too shy to apply to play? There must be some out there. Bands who think that if they apply, it'll be like they're being like Oasis or something. During the Indietracks weekend, they're all in their rooms staging their own 'indietracks' using a gl...

Re: 2015, then...

What I like about this is that a few years ago the talk was all about trying to not have too many repeats but now it seems that with more and more new bands putting out high quality stuff, it's more a case of trying to whittle it down and still have room for a few 'old' favourites.

Re: Laetitia Sadier/Stereolab

I dug out "Peng!" the other day. It's been so long since i heard it I forgot I even had it. I dug it out after listening to that McCarthy "Banking, Violence..." reissue. First thing that struck me was a) how good it was and b) how it sounds like a natural follow up to the McCarthy record. Even the p...

Did you have a good time? I'm sorry I had to miss out. I can barely remember being on stage

Re: Manhattan Love Suicides/Spook School/City Yelps - Leeds

Curfew for live bands is 11.00 so I'd say it's C Yelps - 8.30, Spook School - 9.15, Manhattans - 10.00/10.15. I'll check with Hayley tonight anyway. Last train from Leeds is something like quarter to eleven. It's pretty shitty

Re: Corrupt Postman

The tape I have has the "David C, Whoosh, Karren Ablaze..." credit. Karren was credited because she was the first customer to buy a tape so that means there was an earlier version. "All who helped out with ads" was for people who'd distributed ads for it with their own releases. There's probably a f...

Re: Corrupt Postman

I still can't find the booklet. But yeah, they did two tapes "Are You Ready...?" And the above, plus the two flexis. "Are You Ready" was the first ever appearance of the Pale Saints. Neil went on to do Caramel Records with one release, the 1st Bouquet 7" and Chris did PopStar Records, Velodrome 2000...

The 10" is great. Production is great too. The Second song sounds like The Mamas & Papas.

Re: 2015, then...

May as well get these in early! The Wednesday Club - I saw them last night with their new configuration of Adam on stand up drums/vocals. Just complete entertainment from start to finish. They had the set list on a placard at the front facing the audience so that the audience could shout the songs o...

Re: Who's camping?

I'm just remembering the one year - I think it was 2008, the really hot one - where we'd been given the task of transporting most of the Smittens' equipment down and were in such a panic that we wouldn't be able to fit in our beer cooler and six cases of beer in the car, that I forgot to take a tent...

Re: Albums you wish existed that don't or maybe can't

An Elvis Presley new wave album would have been amazing! I wished the Rolling Stones would have taken their heads out of the coke bag long enough to embrace punk rock. Maybe it would have sounded like this:
