Re: recommend me non-english fiction!

Oh hang on a minute. I screwed that all up and put the non in front of fiction instead of English and thought you wanted nonfiction in English. So my book recommendation is totally useless.

Thanks again, dyslexia. First you (and that 7am astronomy class) ruined my GPA and now this.

Re: recommend me non-english fiction!

Based on what you've said you like, how about this? It's very sad though.

Re: Vegan & Vegetarian Food

I was perusing PPK looking for something to make for dinner for a friend and found another really nice looking moussaka recipe.

Re: Fringe!

That is about the from good to brilliant point, yeah! The finale of the second season took it to genius for me, and then that L.S.D. episode in the third was just "wow!"

I hope it doesn't get canceled!

Re: Fringe!

It's definitely not a suppertime show!

Are you tempted to get Astrid's name hilariously wrong all the time now though? I'd for sure be really annoying and do that all the time!

Fringe!

Does anyone here watch Fringe? After seeing like half of the pilot in 2008 or whenever, I dismissed it as a bad cop sci-fi show with even worse CGI. I took it up again over Christmas and have now seen the entirety of the first three seasons. I am in love! I need Season 4! It's such a smartly written...

Re: Vegan & Vegetarian Food

Sometimes I'm at a loss as to what eggs are actually meant to DO. It looks in this like perhaps it's for like, crisping shit up on top or something, is that right? I think so, yeah! Or maybe it will thicken the sauce a bit more? Pete posted a recipe awhile back for a really nice vegetarian moussaka...

Re: Vegan & Vegetarian Food

This one's pretty good! You can just make the white sauce with nondairy milk and leave out the egg. (you likely have a good white sauce recipe that you could substitute!

Oooph. I should have saved that for this morning once the lager had worn off. I'm feeling slightly more meek/exhausted now that it's light out.

If I had not had one (or perhaps two) too many Brooklyn Lagers this evening, I'd be using my administrative powers to rid anorak of this "not indiepop" section. I saw Dinosaur Jr. tonight for the first time in 21 years. Lou Barlow played his glasses straight off his face at least five times. He also...

Kale chips are really good! Also, when I'm stuck for what to do with an ingredient, I always check the Well Blog on the New York Times site. It's usually focused on one ingredient (or type of food like tacos). And kale was the topic one week!

Re: Athens PopFest 2011 (October 11th - 15th)

Aw, real life stuff got in the way. It's likely all for the best because I had a terrible cold all week, and after a couple days of traveling around Florida for work and conference presenting, I was ready to collapse by Friday night. I still don't feel quite right. I'm glad it was another awesome Po...

Andy Rourke is dj'ing at a club here October 8. The fangirl in me wants to go, but nearly 37 year old in me is telling me I don't like to stay out late in clubs anymore.

I am stupidly excited about the Gerbils! We can only make it for Friday and Saturday, so Hug Abuse will be our first band this year. Yeah! Yey, I think they're the band I'm most excited about too! Gonna be funn! I really can't stop looking at this part of the lineup and thinking it's a dream: 10:30...

Re: TV Quick: talk about things on telly succinctly

I seem to remember people here not liking The Hour , but I caught the first episode today and I'm totally hooked! I know it's slow-moving and confusing, but I think that's why I loved it (see also, Rubicon ). I'm hoping I can watch more. The cheapo cable package I have isn't supposed to include BBC ...
