Re: Who is your favourite Beatle?

Actually I was responding to Cedric... I used to be a HUGE Beatles fan and would become incensed at the suggestion that Yoko had anything to do with th eBeatles break up. Even if I think she's a bit weird. I wouldn't attribute the Beatles break up solely to Yoko. That would be absorbed. In short, t...

Re: Band rivalry debate!

Although I'm not a huge fan of either Blur or Oasis but I do listen to some popular Blur songs every now and again (Particularly 'She's so High' and 'There's no Other Way'). Oasis, on the other hand, I cannot stand, musically as well as the problem of band personality. I simply can't not respect a l...

Band rivalry debate!

I though I'd create a thread to discuss all the old classic rivalries and take sides or just objectively way up pros and cons.

Let’s star with Blur vs. Oasis.

My vote goes for Blur.

Cedric! No! Go back to Pop School.
The Jewish pop school didn't accept me. I'm thinking about getting into politics now.

Never heard that one before. As far as I know Kurt is the one who shotguned himself. I don;t think anybody can be blamed for that but him.

Cedric... "It Don't Come Easy" is great. But George wrote it! I think he wrote it specifically for Ringo to sing, not sure.
Really? Ah thanks for the correction.

Just as a side note, does your avatar suggest that you are Australian? If so what state?

Re: Who is your favourite Beatle?

As a person, I'd have to say Ringo, as a songwriter/performer/musician it'd be Paul for sure. He wrote my favourite Beatles songs, even though I love many of John's and George's songs. John was too much of an asshole and George too much of a whiner. You stole the words from my mouth. I think Ringo ...

I'm listening to "Belles Will RIng". They're really cool. Almost sounds like all the good things about Dandy Warholes and BJTM put together.

Not a big fan of the super hero movies. They all seem to be eye candy with little substance.

Re: shoegaze

I'd even say 'The Drugs Don't Work' was shoegaze. I think the reason that most shoegaze bands turn to rock was because shoegaze was a fad. I'm not trying to knock shoegaze or anything but the genre has too many limits. I can imagine it'd be hard for an artist to tie themselves to such a restraining/...

Re: General Chat About Films And That

Grave of the fireflies is certainly bleak! But it's defiantly worth a watch if you're asking me. It is a sad film but it enlightened me on life during post world war two Japan.
Speaking of movies with meloncholy tone, has anybody seen the Japanese film 'All about lily chou chou'?
