Re: Afternoon Naps

Shame they disappeared, I was a big fan (I mean I only have 25 songs by them but managed to rack up over 1000 plays on Last.fm).

Re: I'll have a pork roll, egg and cheese....the Ween thread

They brought ultra-gross/offensive humour to the level of absurdist art, or something.

Re: I'll have a pork roll, egg and cheese....the Ween thread

I used to love WEEN. Saw them with Kramer on bass at the Riverside in Newcastle in 1990ish. Ace times. I went off them as they got more polished, unsurprisingly. There was certainly something lost in how... unhinged they were once they started using proper studios. I like it all but I can totally u...

Re: I'll have a pork roll, egg and cheese....the Ween thread

I came to Ween oddly late, considering I was always aware of them, had a few friends who were big fans and was sure they were completely my thing. Yeah, The Mollusk is probably their most accomplished album although Chocolate & Cheese comes close. As for the earlier scrapier lofi stuff, I really lov...

Re: Helen Love

Helen Love's new Christmas single is amazing! It's a fundraiser for the excellent Trussell Trust food bank charity and features guest vocals from Charlie Darling, TIm out of Ash, Andrea Darling Bud, Liz from The School, and some foppish underachiever from Sheffield. More news when we have it. I've ...

Still no news on the Nixon boxset. I'm starting to doubt it's ever coming out. :/

Re: The School

The new album's out! And it's fantastic. I was personally a little disappointed by the second album, but this one's a cracker - nice and upbeat pretty much throughout. The opening track, Every Day, might be my favourite but it's all pretty good. You're nuts. The second album was a classic and defin...

Bit of an obvious one but This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us by Sparks. It just gives you the sense something huge is about to happen, and it does!

Making a big announcement on Facebook at lunchtime today apparently.

In other news, genuinely shocked some people on this forum don't like Single Girl or Lovelife. Sickos.

Haha, i've always found Futurama boring and unfunny as hell. I've really got off on the wrong foot with this band.

Re: Your Indietracks 2016 wishlist

I'm sure I told Andy out of Nixon that he'd borrowed a name from a Brazilian indiepop band on a Swedish label. Cuh, I dunno, people who choose a band name despite knowing that it's already in use by another band. They're the WORST. Wait a second, there was another Nixon who isn't Roger Gunnarsson a...

I am not sure I aprove of the owls being so close to the indoor venue ... poor creatures, having all these human monsters staring at them and all that noise ...
