Re: Belle and Sebastian

AMAZING! This is the Belle & Sebastian we all used to love, right?

Re: Belle and Sebastian

I just listened to Stay Loose to remind myself of it. It still does nothing for me at all, sorry! I think it's a bit like Enter Sylvia Plath - a style exercise rather than a proper song. :p

It feels good to be arguing about Belle & Sebastian again. I'm in my element!

Re: Belle and Sebastian

The opening track has an amazing melody. And Play For Today is possibly the best thing I've heard them do since Stay Loose. Stay Loose?! Really?! I've never seen anyone single that one out before (I certainly wouldn't!). Best thing they've done since Your Cover's Blown maybe! But yeah, Play For Tod...

Everyone seems to agree that it's good and the best LP they've done in quite a while. I did NOT see that coming!

Re: Belle and Sebastian

Been playing this non stop for a few days now and it has moved firmly into the *I love it* category. I skip Perfect Couples - it sounds as bad on record as when it was played live, but apart from that its a really great mix of old school B&S (Nobodys Empire, Ever Had A Little Faith) and new upbeat ...

Re: Belle and Sebastian

Okay, it's bloody marvellous. The Party Line is the most representative of the legally available tracks. Lots of europop synths throughout. Doesn't sound like any of their previous albums at all. It feels like a reboot after the recent reissues and getting God Help The Girl out of the way. Lots of h...

Nobody's Empire is proper classic old school B&S! Really love it! Surprised you lot aren't talking about it yet!

I have no idea what Sunday Brunch, Simon Rimmer or Redskins are but Phill Jupitus talked about the alldayer on Channel 4?! That's brilliant!

Re: 22/11 Does Your Heart Go Boom!! All Dayer - Lexington -

Of the 5 times i've seen Helen Love since the live reemergence, Saturday's show was the best! It was also my favourite School show this year, and i've been at almost all of theirs. Phill Jupitus was great too. He told a haiku about They Might Be Giants FFS. Fireworks were awesome, Hyperbubble were a...

I like it! It's nowhere near their best song or anything but it sounds fresh and it's nice to see them take it in a new direction for the new album.
