Finished John Darnielle's novel last night, which was very good indeed, and immediately started on Martin Aston's book about 4AD. Looks like this is gonna be a good 'un too

EVERTON How will you do in 2015-16? Predictably, it depends on (ugh) the transfer window. If we manage to sign someone who can manage the tricky task of 'passing the ball forwards, and quickly' alongside someone else who's up to the demands of 'running dead fast' and/or 'putting the ball in the net...

You can participate/provide suppot by buying records direct from genuinely independent/DIY bands and labels; putting on shows; attending shows; giving bands a place to stay when they come play your town; making bands that come to play your town feel generally welcome and appreciated for travelling ...

buying stuff and promoting shows are great ways to show yr support, but sharing and enthusing are equally important! i've gotten into loads of bands via mates posting bandcamp/soundcloud/youtube clips on facebook or on here. it's easy to feel like everything will get lost in the vacuum of social med...
