"Project Runway," make it work.

Post by Miss 9 » Thu Jul 17, 2008 02:26

Well, the conspiracy-laden Season Five is on right now. I know Bravo is pissed about the move and doesn't give a fuck, but I hope Heidi, Tim, Nina and Michael still take it at least kind of seriously. It's the best reality show in the history of the genre. Respect.

I watched 2-3 episodes of last season and it was, for three seasons, my most unmissable show. I just hated it last season and I'm too scared to go back. I'm taping it so I can fast forward if I'm feeling in pain.

The last series has just finished here. I couldn't stand that little shite who won.

Christian? Yeah, I liked Rami much better.

I was disappointed overall with tonight's premire. They took them back to the same grocery store as the first season one challenge and Austin Scarlett was the guest judge. Like half the contestants used tablecloths or showercurtains which is just stupid! Have none of them watched the show? Also, I don't know if it's the editing or contestants but it seems like I could read their style and personality within seconds: there's a delicate twee pixietard, a rockabilly wannabe with fucking Bettie Page bangs, some motherfucker who calls himself "Suede," and a black woman who has already been foreshadowed to be angry.

But the judges this year! So confusing! Awesome: RuPaul. Awful: Rachel Zoe. Inspired: Diane Von Furstenberg. Insipid: Brooke Shields.

Brooke Shields? Seriously? If it's not a fucking blue jean challenge I have no faith in television anymore.

Maybe it will grow on me. If not, we'll always have Red Lobster.

Look. Charming.

That's it, there was no immediate charm tonight like you got from a Daniel V or Michael Knight.

Victoria Beckham was wonderfully useless on the final of the last one, wasn't she?

"I wud wear that." Thanks, Beckham.

I'm not gay.

I miss Andre and Santino every day of my life; and Austin and Jay.

The "heavy-set" gay guy that made gowns for drag pagaents (Chris?) was OK. Was he last season?

Did I ever mention I saw Robert (was that fr. Season 3?) in the Isaac Mizrahi documentary Unzipped? Too weird!

Now Isaac, HE would be the best judge imaginable. He'd never stoop to that level though. Maybe after the 2nd season when it still had some clout.

I just tried to merge this PR thread with the older one, but I can't remember how to stupidmerge. I'm the worst admin person ever. I should be banned.

Anyhow, I've been watching the new season here and there, out of order, an episode or two at a time, and I like it!

My favorites are Kenley (I like her designs and I want her hair) and Blayne because he makes me laugh and reminds me a little of my beloved Bradley. That business with him making fun of Stella and her leather was good.

Suede is possibly the most annoying person to ever be on the show ever.

Kenley's bangs aren't Betty Pageish! They're a bit longer.

Kenley laughing her hole off at Daniel(?) on the runway was priceless. I love her. Kinda disappointed with this weeks eviction though. There were others who deserved to get the boot more, I thought.

I KNOW. I don't even think he really cheated, really. But I only think that because he's hot so I'm a bad person.

the old Kieth? yeah, I'm with you on that.

I was talking about this season's Kieth though. He's not the hottest ever that's been on ProjRun, but I think he's the hottest of the season. He's been kinda boring so far, but I like his glasses and tattoos and even his fagtag.

I'm excited for the drag queen challenge and Chris March showing up this week.

Drag Queens > Lady Wrestlers.

Oh man, I haven't been watching religiously this season. I'm catching reruns, but I find everyone so totally "MEH" I can't stand it. There's all kinds of forced catchphrases and douchery going on this year. Didn't they get the memo that this is "Project Runway" and not reality TV?

My favorite is Leanne. I think she's neat.

And I agree that this season isn't up to par with the others.

The show is moving to Lifetime Network. I can't imagine that will be a good thing. And this is coming from someone who loves, loves, loves those Golden Girls reruns I can always find on Lifetime.

Also, I still hate Suede. I'm watching reruns and he just called a hat he was making from a car floormat "wackadoodle."

Suede is utterly punchable.

Blayne has grown on me.

Have I gone on record as saying that the Drag Queen episode is probably the best episode of the whole series so far? Yes, that's my opinion, it's even better than the one where Santiago pulls out his imitation of Tim and got us all to imagine Tim and Andre at the Red Lobster.

But this season as a whole is so awful! There is so much SUCK this year and so many crap personalities, I hardly watch it anymore. I'll catch a rerun, but it's by no means the "wheel the TV into the bathroom so I can watch it while I bathe" PR of seasons past.

The drag queen episode was good. I'll give you that.

I think I've given up PR for Gossip Girls and Weeds. I know they're not on the same night or anything, but my cable's been acting dumb and I've started watching everything online, ON MY OWN TERMS.

I missed the drag queen episode.

I may watch the finale. I started to watch one of this season's online the other night (recycled car parts, maybe), but I got bored and just fast forwarded to the end to watch the runway part. The project part was dull/sucked ass.
