I'm not kidding. It's years since I saw it so I can't remember exactly what happened, but it was something along the lines of Carlton being at a party or disco of some sort, being peer-pressured by the Cool Kids in class to take drugs, taking them, doing a massively sped up version of that dance he used to do, collapsing, his family being angry/worried and then learning from his mistakes. I seem to recall that the last 10 minutes of the episode were completely serious, there was no intentional humour at all.let it ride wrote:WHAT?PandaBear wrote:That episode of the Fresh Prince where Carlton was on ecstasy was magnificent.
I missed that. Although I was nine when it was on, maybe I just missed the, I am sure, very "subtle" reference.
Or that was a joke.
Edit: I've just looked it up - some guy gave speed to Will after basketball practice and Carlton took them thinking that they were vitamins. With hilarious/disastrous consequences.
Oh, yes, we got that one but it was called something else. PBS always has these stupid "Britcoms" nights and they are mostly completely shit aside from "Fawlty Towers." We used to get "To the Manor Born"--what was it originally called? "Good Neighbours" perhaps? For most of the 90s PBS ran "Are You Being Served?" and "Keeping Up Appearances" on a perpetual loop.linus wrote: for americans, man about the house = three's company/george and mildred = the ropers (as I understand it)
