Hitcoms

Post by Gordon » Tue Aug 26, 2008 11:52

Hello, as opposed to be down on comedians and comedies, here is a place to be up on them. Please make nice recommendations and annotate (where possible) with youtube or some way to hear them or something.

Just looking for a couple now...

Gordon. No-one wants to talk about what's good. Sheesh.

I was introduced to Human Remains by Pablo over the weekend. I've never seen it before, but it's ace.

I'm glad you liked it, but I wasn't sure you would as you generally seem to like things that portray people in a rather more affectionate light than that does.

Did you watch any more? Hayley and Lisa watched the Brighton one on Sunday morning, which is particularly bleak, and I think it left them slightly traumatised.

I prefer Marion & Geoff, but, yeah, I did like it.

I think I've seen that, from my Screenselect 'rip-burn-and-return' days. Rob Brydon's pretty talented, for someone that doesn't play THAT many different characters...

I saw one episode of that one where he had a game show and gets beaten up by Eamonn Holmes, and that was pretty funny.

I'm not trying to say anything. Do you like Last of the Summer Wine, Sam?

I was thinking more along the lines of Dinner Ladies and things like that, and to a lesser extent that Still Game that we watched

Only series two through to five. When they were keeping it real and Compo was disappearing down a country road in a wheelbarrow every five minutes.

I don't know if you guys get "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," but it's fucking great. There's hot guys and a funny lady and Danny Devito and hilarious situational comedy ensues.

IT'S SO GOOD.

Ha, I was going to mention '...Philadelphia', seeing as nobody has heard of it over in the UK.

I don't think this thread can go any further without mentioning Black Books. I absolutely love it.

I'll come onto Blackadder later.
