If I was less witty than I am I'd say he was more duff than buff.

The good news is that they probably are.

The worrying news is that ITV1 themselves are going to revive it, rather than the bods at Chatsworth TV who devised it in the first place for Channel 4.

The bad news is that it will probably be with celeb contestants only.

The worse than bad news is that it will probably be with Amanda Holden presenting.

A superb format about to be smashed to matchwood, then. Arsington Sodmonster.

I demand the return on Treasure Hunt. With Cherie Blair in the jump suit.

Did anyone actually understand Treasure Hunt? I didn't.

However, it has reminded me of my teenage crush on Annabel Croft.

Is the correct answer. I like you.

"Gronda Gronda"!

Ooh, is that Sir Fred of Harris in that clip?

It was basically just 3-2-1 in a helicopter, wasn't it.

Is this the time/place to casually drop in the fact that I was a contestant on Young Krypton back in the very distant past?

Definitely!!

Was that not the one where at the end the contestant would have to navigate a grid with the pillar of light on the grid - an if they stepped into the light then they would evaporate??

I recall the contestant involved being 'given a sandwich' for the journey home - and it was ages until one contestant realised that the sandwich was of use in combatting the pillar of light..

That's exactly what you want in a outer space game show. Also, for some reason I remember David Yip (the guy from the chinese detective) being on it a lot.

I recall that it used to be on BBC2 a Monday or Tuesday early evening - and would then be followed by Monkey, with one of the best intros for any TV show. TV Heaven..

The Vortex! As loving superimposed onto the screen by a BBC Micro (probably).

Green cheese rolls were awarded by the Rangdo if he liked the gifts you'd given him earlier. And yes, they could counteract the effect of the Vortex, for one move only.

Just the once, but his clip is shown an awful lot on retro telly shows as being from one of the surviving episodes (some have been erased, sadly). It's on Youtube, natch.

The Drogna Game element of the show was also released as a game on the BBC Model B, and I have an original copy of it at home to this day (albeit in a battered condition now). Red Salamander strangely missing.

It certainly is. Nice work! That must have been about 20 years ago, as I think someone in my year at school got onto that as well when she was 14-15 or thereabouts. You just about resisted the temptation to strangle the terminally oleaginous Ross King, I trust? ;-D

Oh my god... I remember that! Shit me right up as a wee 'un...
I may be ugly and hate-filled but... wait, what was the third thing you said?

Pockets Filled With Matches are no more, but we still have copies of our e.p. 'If Time Heals You' for sale, if you'd like one
