Same again for episode 4.

But most of all: what the hell was that?
Theon wasn't in this episode (he's the one played by Alfie Allen who was brought up by Ned Stark and has now gone to Pyke to ask for his father's help in defeating the Lannisters).

Nice to see more Danerys this episode, and I hope we'll get to see more of Tywin next week (Charles Dance rules).

Bit confused as to how far away Renly and Stannis are from King's Landing. It didn't seem to take Littlefinger long to get there.

Ha, you're right of course. I meant Tyrion.

So...
SpoilerShow
Did they really burn to death? Or was that just a misleading cliffhanger?

Let's see if this spoiler thing works then:
SpoilerShow
I reckon it was the 2 orphan kids than Bran sent to that farm a couple of episodes ago. Rickon mentioned that they live there when they saw the farm. Theon is pretending it's Bran and Rickon to show Winterfell that he means business.

Do you reckon that Tywin knows exactly who Arya is? And how awesome were all of Jamie's scenes this week?

I'm really not sure if
SpoilerShow
Tywin knows. What would be his reason to hide that he knows? I mean, he seems to like the girl, but it would be quite a trophy to have, and something valuable to show in negotiations to release Jamie.

also, Littlefinger told Tywin both Stark daughters were at King's Landing... so he'd have no reason to suspect Arya was Arya... but that also begs the question as to why Littlefinger said that... because we know and so, presumably, does he that Arya isn't there... I think Arya's going to be alright, that's not based on anything I've read in the books- I'm a slow reader- but I've just got this feeling that her and Bran are going to be very important later on... I mean they're important now but more important
What I really really like about Game of Thrones that I've heard fanboys/girls say about other 'imaginative' fiction (for telly, I'm thinking Farscape) but never believed and often mocked (but that I believe is absolutely true of GoT) is that the character's actions, emotions and motivations are far more real and human and understandable than anything you'd see in any soap, say, (and I include the hallowed Corrie in that) and indeed most 'quality' tv dramas about 'real life'/'the real world'

What's also good is that I'm so into GoT that I can a) use an acronym without embarassment to refer to it and b) should anyone mock me for my new obsession I will now automatically just smile to myself knowingly and think, 'yeh, you just haven't got it yet, have you?' and think less of that person

It's great! I don't often get a chance to feel superior to anyone but now I can

Woo-hoo!

I went and read the books after season one... so I probably shouldn't comment in this thread in general.

I really enjoyed that last episode. They really took their time for some scenes, but still visited every important story line for at least a bit.

That was so amazing! However:

Tyrion had better not be dead. That would be rubbish. Seeing him chop some bloke's leg off was pretty cool though...

That was pretty great indeed, except indeed the fact that

our beloved half-man is going to be pretty dead. Is there any chance of a miracle escape?

THAT. WAS. FUCKING. BRILLIANT.

Neil Marshall's the kiddy... I saw him down as the director in the opening credits and I got all excited and it was even better than I could've dreamt it would be... flipping 'eck!

i just caught up on all of them! we went a bit crazy and watched all of season 1 and as much of season 2 as has been aired in a week and a half. i think we watched 5 episodes on saturday alone. we forgot to eat, we forgot to sleep...it took over our lives...now i feel sad that we have to wait for the next episode and then wait like A YEAR (?!) for the next season!
SpoilerShow
anyway, everyone said this episode was gonna be amazing but i think others this season and last have been a lot better. maybe my expectations were just too high! i mean, i really enjoyed it but i guess i was expecting someone major to die but that didn't happen. ok, i was hoping joffrey would get it and it sucked that he didn't. maybe that's why i feel a bit disappointed.

and yes, if tyrion is dead i'm fucking boycotting the show. killing off everyone else has been bad enough but don't take him away! he's my favourite character, i think. i fancy him and everything.

also, i'm having such trouble following what's going on. has the other baratheon "army" (renly's crew) joined up with tannis (is that his name? i'm so awful at remembering) lannister? is that who the millions of knights that arrived later on in the episode were?

and where's robb stark? where's he going? king's landing?! i'm just lost. i'm too tired (from sleep deprivation from watching game of thrones ALL THE TIME) to read the GoT wiki but i don't even know if that will explain anything. and i'm scared of spoilers.

ser loras, renly's old squeeze, and the rest of renly's old crew have teamed up with tywin lannister and I think this deal was brokered by littlefinger, so that's how that came to happen, i thought that bit where they rode in was GRATE... I think what excited me about this episode was the sheer scale of it, other episode's battle scenes have kind of focused on four or five people or the aftermath or just been talked about, this was all up there on the screen... I also thought cersei and sansa's scenes were great and tyrion leading the battle was too, I also dug stannis baratheon trying to take kings landing pretty much single handed at times... best of all was how I was cheering on one side and then cheering on another and back and forth before finally thinking, fucking hell, war's shit, even pretend fantasy war... which is perhaps, if we all think about it a moment, the point... I also liked how they stuck with one location... I'm struggling to not give away what happens...

what an awesome awesome ending to series 2/set up for series 3
SpoilerShow
when that white walker on that horse turned at stared at sam... flipping 'eck! hayley said my reaction as the credits rolled was like that of an overexcitable highly impressionable 10 year old boy... I think I just sat there wide-eyed exclaiming 'that was well wicked' in a high pitched voice... also when jaqen h'ghar turned round to face arya and he's got a completely new face on... dany and her dragons taking out pyat pree was pretty nifty too... can it be series 3 already, please?

Ohh, I didn't realize that was the last episode of the season already. What a shame! But it was perfect, anyway.

But you do all know Season 3 already exists in paper form... I'm not sure whether to go straight in or start from the beginning. Each audiobook is about 33 hours long...
