Greggs FAQ wrote: We have a core range of products that are sold in every Greggs shop around the country. In addition, we try to cater for local tastes by including traditional bakery products and lines that are popular with customers in that area. We are continually developing new products and ranges to introduce into our shops and discontinuing the sale of products that no longer meet the needs of our customers.
I've seen 'em in Dudley. I even heard they were vegan (this was some years back). Maybe they don't want to compromise they're no-nonsense northern image with namby-pamby hippie food on their "core menu"?
I am struck speechless by the nape of your neck.

The last week or so I have been seduced by the gentle pleasures of Greggs rock cakes.

Has anyone else partaken?

I've heard that they improved their recipe for the Cornish pasties. Am a bit worried about this.

Tried two 'new' things from Greggs on Saturday. Well, they may not be new, I've not had anything from there in a few years.

Katsu Chicken Pasty
Hmm, pretty decent. Very mellow curry flavour, bit of background heat. A sort of coconutty curry concoction. The yellow crusty stuff on the outside was a bit weird though.

Pulled Pork Roll
Bit sweet for my tastes, but really nice. I'd bought it for my little lad but he complained it was too spicy for him, the mard. Doesn't know what he's missing that lad.

Anyone had the Bombay potato thing? That looked nice.

My Curry Pasty was a choice winner vs the Bombay Potato pasty. I need to try one now!

Everyone! Yesterday I had a limited edition vegetable katsu pastie. Veg and chickpeas (chickpeas!) in a sort of chip shop curry sauce. The pastry had sort of crispy bits on as well (see Wheatabeat passim - I really liked that though!). I'm probably not doing it justice but it was a thing of profound wonder. You should all go to Trowell services on the M1 northbound near Nottingham and have one.

Sounds lovely - I'm going to stop at every Greggs I can find on my way back to Sheffield from Scotland to see if I can get one.
