It's a rich, dense, yellow, sweetish, cakey sort of bread from Brittany. It's very nice. Makes good bread and butter pudding as well.

i just want to add that i actually really like duck pizza. at least i really like the one they do at bar room bar, it's not unlike a duck wrap and that's totally acceptable. mmm, wish i could have a duck pizza right now.

Duck pizza is about the most bourgeois concept I've ever heard. I'd try it though, I bloody love duck.

Larks tongue filano, anyone?

what would one call a filano made on a bagel? i know it's a pretty far out concept, but bear with me: mozarella, sundried tomato and basil on an onion bagel. i need to get my terminology straight.

Filagel?

I'm not sure about this one myself, lyns.
It sounds like the perfect autumnal filano. Apart from the bagel bit. Very warming.
I don't get on with bagels.

it's got to be balano or filagel really, i think. unless we're going to go on some mad tangent.

Proof, if it were needed, that the Scottish will eat anything.

I'm having a breakfast filano that is sure to be controversial.

It's got peanut butter and apple and a little cheddar.

What!
You take the good filano name in vain! What you have made there, Rachel, is not a filano, but a mess. Cheese and peanut. Cheese and peanut? Bloody nora.

Well who am I to argue with the best named Grandma ever invented.

You can have your perversions, but you don't need to ram them down our throats. I'm going to home to have a good traditional wholesome family cheese and tomato filano, as god intended it to be.

Family cheese sounds like the most perverted cheese ever, speaking of perversions.

You're family cheese.
And so's your grandma.
