So are Peeps only sold in America? David has never seen a Peep before. I'm actually not sure I've ever eaten one, but I have a strange love of looking at those little fluffy guys, and I got mildy excited when Peeps started getting made for holidays other than Easter.

The local newspaper here has been soliciting readers for dioramas made from Peeps. Surely this one of the Resurrection one is blasphemous.

I have never seen a peep. I think I'd remember that. I feel deprived and underprivileged now.

I quite nearly wet my pants the first time I saw ghost peeps. And then, despite hating everything about 4th of July, I became hypnotized whenever I saw the mountain of star-spangled peeps at Target (no other 4oJ candy to compete with really). I'm crazy for flecks--what can I say?

It's hard to pick my favorite Peep. I don't like the hearts or trees for some reason. I feel peeps should have eyes.

Anoraks, how does one make popcorn? It sometimes works for me --'it' being putting a bit of oil in a frying pan, then adding corn to it and covering the pan with a lid-- and sometimes doesn't in which case the corns burn before they have popped, the kitchen is filled with smoke and I need to wash my clothes. Today is the latter kind of day. The thing is, I have no idea what I do differently.

Are you shaking the pan once you hear pops? You need to do some vigorous shaking. And don't put the stove on higher than medium-high heat. And is frying pan a shallow pan? It should be more of a pot with a lid on it.

Thanks. :) There was me making popcorn in a shallow pan on a high fire without shaking. It's quite amazing that I didn't burn the flat down then.

Well, I think I made all three mistakes, but it's probably the fire that made the difference compared to other times when I've popped corn.

I burned the crap out of my forehead trying to pop corn when I was ten or so.

The worst part is that I was popping it for my hamster.

I mostly stick to microwave popcorn now, and I occasionally dabble in Jiffy Pop when Target has some in the dollar section.

Anyone had one of the new Kit Kat Caramel Chunkies? They're fucking DELICIOUS. I could quite easily eat six in a row.

I don't trust the opinion of someone who doesn't like mashed potato.

I have now returned from the co-op with one. The verdict will arrive later in the evening.

I feel it's only fair at this stage to point out that I haven't even had my dinner yet, so those staying up for the result should be aware that it won't arrive until 10 at the earliest.

those caramel chunky kit kats are revolting, it's like eating sweetened dog poo... that's not even caramel, it's some pseudo-butterscotch fudge muck... worst chunky kit kat ever

peanut butter chunky kit kats on the other hand remain a work of genius
