Oooh, that looks alright, that. But how did you find time to go during Indietracks? Do they stay open dead late?

The new featured pub on my blog is Fagan's: a change-proof boozer serving distilled essence of Sheffield.

I'm cross-posting this from the Brighton thread in case nobody reads it; sorry to have to do that.

Can anyone recommend pubs in Brighton please?

It's for my brother's stag do. So ideally we need places that do tasty beer, but which won't have the young people complaining.

If anyone happens to find themselves with a week to spare in Anstruther, then I'd suggest you eat, drink, sleep, play pool and listen to the music in The Dreel Tavern. A finer pub I don't think I've been in.

Don't suppose you fancy writing a guest feature about it for Get to the pub.com, Sam? What were you up to there anyway?

Speaking of Get to the pub.com, here's a feature about it in today's Sheffield Star, with a big daft picture of me!

There's no better feeling than when you know a pub is going to be ace from ten yards away, is there.

Whenever, mate. Thanks! Just have a little read of some of the other featured pubs for a handle on the style and length.

Cor, it does look nice from that pic.

Hey Pete.
I used to go in The George a bit. It's just down the road from the railway station, on the corner of The Lanes.

It's veggie/vegan friendly too.

Most of the other pubs I used to go in were a bit grubby and full of punks.

Ah, cheers Jaynie - I'll have a look! Just been to a stag do in Birmingham at some mostly pretty ropey pubs, so it'd be good if the next one could take in somewhere decent.

That's great. Pete!

The place for happy endings would be just across the road from The Gardener's. Or so I've been told.
