I noticed the other day that the shops in York that used to be Baker's Oven have now changed into Greggs so now there are three within the space of about two or three hundred metres. Just like everywhere else, then...

Can't say that Ive ever been in one - but I quite like the current tv ad! (the one where the dog eats the pastie - or whatever the item is that the guy has brought!)

Yeah, we thought that was really strange when we were in Antwerp last year. There are so many places to get lovely food in Antwerp, that I just don't understand where it fits in.....Greggs doughnut or Belfgaufra waffle = no contest!
Woodbine wrote:East Ham High Street has two Greggs! TWO! They're not even very far away from each other, seven minutes maximum, and that's if you're walking slowly. They're on opposite sides of the road, like service stations. I reckon you'd be hard pushed to find two operating branches of Greggs within such close proximity anywhere else in the UK.
WRONG! Swindon town centre has three Greggs, which is very odd at the moment as everything else is closing. They're probably less than five minutes walk from each other (actually two are probably within one minutes walk). We do have a few Cornish pasty type places too, which are much better. We only ever buy cream cakes from supermarkets or M&S and I make enough normal cake to keep us happy.

Where I grew up, Greggs has a really bad reputation. Waterfields, Greenhalghs, Pimlotts (ahh, meat & potato pies on Saturday lunchtime), Galloways etc were better quality bakers. Although I always say I come from Warrington, I actually grew up in an old mining town right inbetween Wigan and Warrington. When I was at Wigan College, there was about seven pie shops next to each other Mesnes Street.I'd like to add that I did drop two dress sizes when I went to uni in Manchester.... Mmm,
Just be nice to me.

I'm pretty sure there are two on the same block on the Moor in Sheffield. I could walk between them in one minute - I think it'd take a little longer for most of their regular customers though.

Pete! I meant to tell you that - spookily - a day after you complained about Greggs not doing veggie pasties in Sheffield, they stopped serving them in my regular Greggs in Nottingham.

Greggs is an MI5 front.

I think Scunthorpe wins the Greggs proximity test:

Proximity

Yes it is a slow day at work.

Interestingly, all the streets around there are available on Street View, except for the streets with Greggs on. IT'S A CONSPIRACY!

Wait. A Greggs, and it's in a library, and it's open 'til 3am? Yeah, right.

Fuck The Lucksmiths splitting up. The world is good again; Greggs are doing two for one on cheese and onion pasties.

Had a cornish pasty at dinner time. Delightfully peppery. Some places would forget the pepper aspect.
