Cadbury Roses

Post by squirrelboutique » Thu Jan 06, 2011 15:36

I've had my first (and second, third, fifteenth etc.) Cadbury Roses this past holiday.

I was kind of confused by the chart in the tin since the shapes were off, but once I figured out the color coding I spent all my time searching for those Brazilian Darkness ones. They were slightly salty perfection.

If I lived where they are readily available, I imagine that I'd choose friends based on Rose preferences. I'd only make friends with people who liked the orange/strawberry cream ones since I found those to be kind of gross. The Caramel Velvets are also a little too sweet and slightly too gooey, so my new friends could have all those and I could keep the ones I like.

this is the real reason we were destined to become friends, rachel.

Aww, my favourite (the truffle one) has been discontinued, according to Wikipedia at least. My previous favourite was the Coffee Creme, which is also gone.

In summary, ban Roses!

Some of you can't handle the Rosetruth.

Orange Creams are for Vaccines fans. THAT'S RIGHT.

I was rather disappointed with the fare on offer in this year's drum. Don't know if it was my imagination but there seemed to be an oversupply of the ones that were just a square of Dairy Milk.

If I wanted squares of Dairy Milk I'd buy a block of Dairy fucking Milk.

End of rant.

I hear you, Andy. If I didn't know them better, I'd think my in-laws had been through the box they gave me for Christmas and stripped out all the best ones....

Hmm...

We've got two thirds of a tin left of the bloody things. Never going to get eaten, I only like the orange and strawberry cremes (waves at squirrel boutique).

If you post your favourites and full names and addresses perhaps I could divi the remainder up? Blatant grooming alert....

...oh, and don't get me started on the satsuma mountain in our fruitbowl. What a waste!

I like the caramel ones and the blue chewy ones and the blue not chewy but chocolate ones and the brazil nut and caramel ones and the green ones

but then I'm very selective in my tastes

we didn't have any square toffee ones in any of the two tins we've made a disgrace of ourselves with, also the brazilian darkness ones are kind of burgundy, surely?

Every year (for reasons unknown) a friend of my Aunt gives our family a tin of either Quality Streets or Roses (are we going to get into the big Roses v QS debate?!). This year they weren't there because she'd forgotten to give them to my Aunt. It was not a proper Christmas! Sure there were Celebrations and Heroes but that's hardly the same thing. I've clearly not got over it yet!
Anyway, I like the strawberry, orange and fudge ones and I'm a sick paedophile and an OAP (waits for Sam to delete his context-providing post).
