Skiing.

Post by jayen_aitch » Fri Mar 21, 2008 08:45

If anyone can get a last minute flight cheaply, and enjoys winter sports, there has just been the most amazing drop of snow in the Chamonix valley, which I am going to take advantage of as soon as everyone else is ready.

And there's more predicted every day until Wednesday. Shame I'm back at work that day.

Well, I can report the snow was great today, and it keeps coming.

These conditions are something I rarely get... I'm usually out at the end of the season using the tail end of the snow.

Fresh snow, what's this? I almost don't know what to do with it.

I had a lovely time today though.

I was in Vemdalen a few weeks ago for my first ever skiing experience and it snowed almost every day too! It was amazing and not crowded at all.

Might go to Åre next year.

There is nothing I suck at more than skiing.

That's all I have to say about that for now.

Bloody hell, this thread is looking a bit neglected.

I'm going to dust it off. There.

Look at all the snow in the Alps at the moment... well worth a go.

Skiing!

I just got out here today and had a lovely afternoon's skiing, seven more days to go... hurrah!

Poor thread. *dusts off*

Where about are you? How's the snow?

I'm off skiing in the alps next week. Risoul if anyone has been there?
And by me, I mean, Flexo.

I'm in the Chamonix valley again... but I think the good snow is available throughout the alps this year... it's snowing again today, and the snow line is at 800m, if that helps.

I've never been to Risoul, I hope it's lovely for you.

Risoul was lovely, it snowed on Wednesday but otherwise sunny skies. It's not the biggest of resourts but probably perfect for an early intermediate level.

Piste map time - the blue in the middle next to Le Forest is a really long lovely sweeping run.

Wow, looks like there's a good old ski area there. I can imagine you had an ace time.
