After going out of the League Cup during the week in a 2-0 beating from Aberdeen, today saw another loss away to Dunfermline in the League for the Jags.

Mince.

Taggart is on ITV3 just now. Not classic Taggart, but at least its got Jardine in it, so it must be about 5 years old, and a lot of it is filmed in Firhill.

My mate writes a bit for the Jags programme. He gets a bit of stick for it when he's not on form, mind.

i sold programmes at firhill for a couple of weeks when i was a kid.

you got in for free, but you had to miss the first 10/15 minutes in case people were running late.

Good weekend for the Rovers there. A ground out 1-0 victory against Brechin at Glebe Park (where the hedge needs a bit of a trim to be honest), the teams around us losing points, Wullie Gray getting arrested and the Pars los...

Oh hang on, Gav, what happened to Thistle at Least End? It would have capped off the weekend nicely if the Jags could have done the biz and hammered another nail into Kenny's coffin.
They don't call me Hawkeye Gilhooley... at all

I 'watched' cars for a couple of weeks at Firhill when I was a kid.
We didn't really have the hang of it though (we were nice kids really), we'd just seen other kids asking 'watch your car mister?' so we thought we'd try it too. We asked nice and politely and made a fair bit of money - and we actually watched the cars. Don't know what we would have done if someone had tried to steal them though.
Second week we turned up to do the same but after a while the bad boys appeared and took our money off us. And our Thistle scarfs.
A bitter lesson in life....

i didn't understand what was going on when my dad first took me to firhill, and i made his give them some money so they didn't kill us after we drove away.

Unfortunate result at the weekend, it would have been nice to take a nice win away with us and continue our turnaround in league fortunes, but alas not this week. Its a bit depressing to be playing catch up so soon, but we're still not too far from the top.

...or the bottom.
Onwards and upwards (I hope).
What's really sad is sitting on a Saturday afternoon trying to follow the score on the internet.

Great result for Rangers tonight, 3-0 win away to Lyon. Think they stand a chance of winning the SPL this season?

Has everyone seen the Dida thing from last night?

It's priceless. I'd post a link but all the Youtube clips have got lots of comments on them saying "omg italans r pusy bitchez". You know, Dida being Brazilian and everything.

another 1-1 result for the Jags at home to Dundee. Should have nailed it. I think McColl is going to do a really good job at Firhill, but its going to take him at least this year treading water whilst he rebuilds the team pretty much from scratch.

I see our old boy Harkins scored one the other day. Any word on how he's getting on generally?

So the Jags are still floating around the middle of the table, but more recent results have been a lot more encouraging. I think Ian McColl has been getting given a lot more patience from the fans than some managers would have got, and thats grand. i think he's doing a good job of building a solid team for the next few years, and it takes time, and to be honest if they went up this year it would be too soon. Hopefully next year will be Thistle's Year.

Good Scottish Cup results though, nice unexpected win against Dunfermline sees us marching through another round, Livingston on Saturday. Its not outwith the realms of possibility for another win.

Gerry Britton is back at Firhill as Assistant Manager to McColl. He's a good guy, kind of got dropped in at the deep end when he joint-managed Thistle previously. I think he'll make a magic No.2 now.

Bloody good score for the old Harry Wraggs in the scottish cup.

Harkins seems to be doing well Pete, just realised i never replied earlier.

Congratulations to East Fife for winning their division so early on. Nice one Chris.

I know it's a little late but....
general opinion around Firhill at the moment seems to be that Gary (or Grant as the BBC would have it) Harkins walks on water.
Have you seen the pass he made for the Thistle goal against Rangers?
This could be Thistle's year!!
(Old Thistle joke)

No, but I'm reading phrases like "inch perfect" in the reports...

This is good to know - thanks. I'll follow the replay with interest...
