I'm a definite for Bearsuit, obviously. I'm a maybe for Thursday. I'll probably do the Rising Sun quiz tonight, if anyone's interested.

Saturday I plan to go to the Mallard in Worksop, as I think it's the Hallowe'en beer festival. The Mallard is ace and can be reached easily by train, what with it being on the platform of Worksop railway station. It'd be an afternoon trip, I think. It's like a mini Fat Cat (apart from the downstairs bar) and folk are friendly (they talk to you, cos it's so small, you can't avoid it) and there are dogs. And sandwiches.

Ooh, beer. That sounds like it could be a plan - I might pop along after circuit training.
Stopping in tonight, wine and the Apprentice for us lot.

Also another definite for Bearsuit here. I presume it's just pay on the door again as per Allo Darlin', is it?

Might see some of you in the Uni Arms this lunchtime, too, albeit possibly from a distance, as I've got a farewell lunch for one of our other maternity leave cover staff to attend there. That'll be me in six months' time. Probably. Sob.

Sunday pub quizzage is also looking very promising, so long as I'm back from working at Carlisle races in time. Any takers? For the quiz, that is. :-)

On maternity leave? congratters! heh heh.
Yes, see you at the suits for bears gig. And maybe the pub quiz, if the 4th night out in a row doesn't become a burden!

Wahoo! Saw the chap in the Telegraph saying he wanted to follow the Sheaf's model (which seems to be no games, no gimmicks, cheap and excellent beer). Then there's the Thornbridge takeover of the former Highcliffe (now the Greystones) on Tuesday next week. Good old Sheffields.

I read somewhere that they'd delayed the opening until the 10th.

I walked past on my way home from work last night and there were lights on inside and the light on the sign was on but the windows are still boarded up.

Cor. I wish I still lived where I did in my first year of uni - I was half way between The Greystones and The Rising Sun!
