I'll happily slag off Lincolnshire - but no-one else is allowed to.

I hope this thread includes North-East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire.

That pic comes up when you look on google images for "Lincolnshire". Is it yours?

What's the song?

No!

It's 'Lincolnshire Skies' by The Regulars.

I remember when my friend first saw Lincolnshire. She looked at me all mock-worried and said "what holds the sky up??"

Here's a link for the song, if anyone's interested:

(I'm still ridiculously proud of it)

Hurray!

It made my work computer do all sorts of strange things, but I'll go and listen when I'm online this weekend. Thank you!

my dad mends lifts for a living.

tomorrow he's got to go to a nightclub in lincoln to fix a lift. he told me that the company he works for gave what they thought would be a prohibitively high quite to fix the lift cos they didn't want to send someone back to the place. vomit and broken glass was mentioned.

I live in North Lincolnshire. My housemate is currently in Lincoln. He wins.

Edit: Oh bugger, I just noticed he's home. I've been playing music really loudly and he's playing golf first thing tomorrow...

....

....

well if he will be a golfer...

Here's another picture of a Lincolnshire sky. I took it from my old bedroom window in Keelby.

wow, those are really great pictures.

You never really could see the sunset from my house, but if you walk into the fields a bit, you can see the cathedral lit up at night (and during the day too, but it looks better lit up) which still gives me a little warm feeling inside to this day.

A couple of years ago, it was new year's day, I went up on that hill by Steep Hill with a couple of friends and watched the sun set over miles and miles of flat ground. It felt great, like reclaiming Lincolnshire for myself, from the horrid memories of school, and being a teenager.

This is the view of the cathedral from the field in front of my parents' house. You can walk all the way into town along the tow path, which I intend to do one day!

Image

I do love Lincoln. I used to love going there on the train from Grimsby and going to the record shops. I don't think any of them are there anymore, sadly.

Actually, no. that's a view from the south of the city, isn't it?

There WERE a couple at the bottom end of the High Street - haven't been down there for a while, so I don't know if they still are there.

My favourite was always Sonic Sounds up in a little 1st floor room above a gift shop. I think they sell t-shirts instead now.

I think it's sort of East actually. I get confused because there are two Fiskertons just outside Lincoln. It's the one without the train station.
