A lot of people do go away - you'll become accustomed to the news being full of OMG TRAFFIC CHAOS stories on bank holiday weekends - but it's not like the city empties or anything. I'm guessing for every Londoner who goes away there'll be at least as many tourists coming in for the weekend.

We've just come back from a trip around parts of the western Balkans. It was amazing. We saw some heavy stuff as well as being able to lie around in front of a really blue sea for a bit at the end. Belgrade, Sarajevo, Mostar and the borderlands where Serbia meets Bosnia made a massive impression on me. For those who are sitting at work and would like an escape I have provided photos and a commentary. It's a bit long (but there are cats).

I looked at (some) of these a while ago, Dan. they made me a bit sad that I have no plans to go anywhere anytime soon.
I am struck speechless by the nape of your neck.

Anoraks, has anyone ever been to Staithes? I found the word written on a notebook yesterday. Must have seen it on Coast or something and having Googled it now, it looks a bit amazing.

Not that I'll ever get to go anywhere but if I could run away for a couple of days, that's the sort of place I'd like to go. I was just wondering if it's as magical as it looks.

Heh, I was just looking at that other holiday thread and I was on about some place in Wales I saw on Coast too. I really need to stop watching Coast and actually go somewhere.

Anyway. Staithes!

OK, back from Staithes. I was there from Thursday to Saturday this week and I seriously think it's the most beautiful place I've ever seen. I spent the whole time just wandering around and saying wuhhhhhh.

Will post some pics later.

Just few days before i came back from Koh tao, it was great being there in the beautiful island. As i am an hungry man i enjoyed the fishes there. Koh Tao is also termed as a fisherman’s paradise where you get to see species like sailfish, marlin, king mackerel, snapper, cobia etc. Staying at the Koh Tao Apartment residing Sairee beach was very affordable and i enjoyed the scenery pretty well. Now i return home full of fish and well rested.

There's something decidedly fishy about that last post.
