MJ Hibbett/Pete Green, 14 July, That London

Post by MJHibbett » Wed Jul 02, 2008 2:52 pm

This is the Press Launch (OoooOOooh) for "My Exciting Life in ROCK"... tho please don't feel you need to dress up in an old trenchcoat, chew gum, and carry a battered note book with you in order to get in. Tho you can if you like.

Er... anyway, it's on Monday July 14th at The Cross Kings (126 York Way, That London), costs 4 quid I think, with doors at 7pm and Mr Pete Green going onstage at 7.30. After that I'll be on for about an hour doing the full Edinburgh show. If anybody would like to come then that would be GRATE!

This sounds great! I'll definitely be there. I forgot to say that I really really liked that set you played in the Buffalo Bar the other week. I'd never heard music of the future before.
the trouble with personalities, they're too wrapped up in style
it's too personal; they're in love with their own guile

I just got an email from somebody who'd seen the flyer...

... and asks:

"I was told that at your gig next Mon. Peter Green is performing. Is this the famous 60s star? "

I'm frankly AMAZED this doesn't happen more often. So, if anyone else was wondering, it's NOT Peter Green formerly of Fleetwood Mac, it's Pete Green currently of The Pete Green Corporate Juggernaut. As ever in life, it's all about the r's.

I'm frankly VERY RELIEVED that this doesn't happen more often.

What did you tell her, Mark?

I said "YES IT IS. Please bring all your friends, it is a once in a lifetime opportunity." You do know some Fleetwood Mac covers, right?

I think 'Albatross' will sound smashing through my new fuzz pedal.

It was REALLY good, Mark, you seemed a lot more relaxed than at the Lamb the other week, and it didn't feel like 69 minutes, i'm very excited for the full band show now.

I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't the famous 60's star supporting, but Pete was an ample replacement!

Top night all round.
and that snare drum, that drum roll
means we've got a winner

Ooooooh that was fun! Mark's set was triffick - sure to be a hit in That Edinburgh. I really enjoyed playing too. What a lovely set of people. Thanks everyone! I really like that venue too.

Behringer Super Fuzz, I think. My chief criterion for choosing this device was that it was dead cheap.

I have nicknamed it The Beast.

I wouldn't mess with The Beast.

I loved everything about last night. It was like being in a parallel universe where everyone is really sweet and funny, plays good music, applauds enthusiastically and then buys everyone drinks. Good luck in Edinburgh, Mark!

Are you still playing the Perseverance on Friday with Superman Revenge Squad.

It is down on the Freedom of Expression gig listing, but I can't see it on your myspace?

Yes! I only found out Superman Revenge Squad were playing last night, so am v.excited.

I really ought to update the Myspace, but going and changing things feels like disturbing the sleep of an aged cat.

I enjoyed your set on Friday night, even if it was a bit quiet. Hopefully I try and come along to the Croydon gig.

Thanks for coming and being 20% of the audience! I really enjoyed it I must say, especially a) Superman Revenge Squad [GRATE!] and b) everyone going downstairs when the slightly wet singing girl came on and brought 20 LOONIEZ upstairs to watch her.
