Please put your town in your title! And don't SHOUT!
Hi guys, this is just a request, but if you are putting on a gig or a club night, please put your town in your title so that it makes it easier to work out which threads to read.

Agreed, but is there any way of increasing the number of characters you can use for thread titles? This ain't Twitter.

I tried to fit everything in to my last one but ran out of space. 5 more characters would have let me write " Brum" More characters would be helpful.
And by me, I mean, Flexo.

OK, this can be changed if people agree on a suitable length. Not sure if it would break the board layout, though.

And what I mean, as I try to take lengths to point out, is that I CAN do this, not that I have the designated authority to do this...
Except when it means I can have a massive picture of my face-sake Christopher Walken as my avatar, I don't like to overstep my, er..., limits.

Re: Please put your town in your title!!!
What's the character limit currently set at? Would an extra 50% be out of the question? I don't start many threads but I've only ever found it a problem when trying to fit in gig lineups.

I think the default may be 60 characters. I haven't checked the code but that's what someone said on the phpbb3 meta-forums...

oh yeah, another request: please type out all the information for the show. it's the accessible approach.
-- facebook links may be convenient but reading vague details about a show one might want to go to, then clicking on a link only to arrive at a log-in page is super-annoying for those of us who can't / won't log in. if you want to click on your own link to see what happens, remember to log out of facebook first.
-- uploading only a flyer image saves you time but pics don't always load & aren't terribly helpful to the visually impaired.
it's not like these are constant problems but they happen.

Am I the only person who has Lulu in their head after readin this thread title?
Not literally, obviously.
Sweden feels like a town sometimes. I think it has a population equivalent to urban London, or somewhere close to that. Though it takes a bit longer to get from Kiruna to Malmö than it does to get from Enfield to Croyden. (insert obligatory rush hour joke here).
Meanwhile back on topic, these are all helpful suggestions when publicising a show, especially the shouting thing. Knowin how much a show costs before turning up is pretty great too.
