About to head into town for this via two buses, just got to go steady on the beers early doors! Really looking forward to it.

This time last year there was snow on the ground and when I went out I couldn't get the front door closed as it has expanded, so spent 20 mins planing the door frame before I could shut it and head out. That won't be that problem this year as there is now about a half inch gap round the edge of the door and the sun is shining!

Well that was another brilliant day, cheers once again for putting it on.

Wind Up Birds were a massive discovery for me, fantastic stuff. Spook School and Martha probably my highlights, but enjoyed all the bands and sorry I had to miss most of Mascot Fight's set as I needed to eat.

Also think Russ the soundman deserves huge credit, thought he got the sound bang on from the start for all bands. Hope today goes well, won't be there as I've ran out of steam.

Great video. My mate Keith filmed quite a few other tracks throughout the day and sure he'll upload more over the next few days.

Wish I'd been able to make this - sounds like it was a fantastic day with a stellar line-up. Really glad a few people seemed to get into The Wind-up Birds. Their new album's out on 27th May you know...

Haha, I don't know if that means you enjoyed my set or just that it was complemented by continental caffeine consumption. But either way, I had a lovely time playing and want to do many more things like that (I might drop the Werewolf of Wall Street song in favour of one with less chords and words, though). So people book me for more things like that. Pete, David and Mark were all excellent, too, OBVIOUSLY. I'm sorely tempted to pop up to Sheffield on Friday to see David's gig there...

I'm pretty sure that Vegan Cake Man was Roundbitsofplastic? If not then there was additional vegan cake to which I was not privy.

Anyway, ace weekend, topped off (i.e. ruined) by my drunken eating of Friday's leftover pizza off the floor of my flat last night. And, y'know, work.

I really enjoyed Superman Revenge Squad, Mascot Fight and Martha, then had to leave for reasons. A fine day though, and I hope I'll be able to make it again next year!

Brilliant, brilliant stuff. Thanks again for doing it, Simon! The Spook School just get better and better.

Really nice to see everyone, especially Damian and JamieC - it had been too long. x

I really enjoyed the Saturday, but standing a lot meant my bad ankle got sore and prevented attending on Sunday.

Loved Kid C, Martha and The Spook School. And it was great to see all the other bands too - been too long since I'd seen The Wind Up Birds.

If anyone from Mascot Fight is reading this, booze took over towards the end and I think I have a few ££s in my merch tin from your stuff. DM and I can paypal you the cash.

:-)

Cheers dear - i love that one!

Lovely day out in Leicester and GRATE to see everyone, even if it did make me feel ANCIENT when I suddenly realised it's nearly a quarter of a century since one of my friends was barred from a previous version of Cafe Bruxelles for trying to buy DRUGS when it was a nightclub! AGE!!

That was all very, very lovely and joyous. Wish I hadn't have to run for my train yesterday. People! Pop! It's all we'll ever need. Thanks Simon. x

Did anybody get any nice photos or videos yesterday? (I'm looking, specifically, at Mr Ransome)

Yes it was, though by the time I remembered he'd brought some it had all gone.

Apart from a few minor things nobody who wasn't promoting would notice, with the possible exception of a tiny bolt shearing off meaning part of the drumkit falling apart mid-song, that all went about as smoothly as an alldayer can go. Really pleased with the reception everybody got - I can't recall a Leicester indiepop gig causing such floorshaking as broke out at the end of the Spook School set. Special mention to the couple who attempted to pay by card and on being told they couldn't flounced off, the three people I let in for free about halfway through Kid Canaveral having succumbed to the spirit of the day, and the two women who I don't think had been at the gig who deep into the disco launched into some accomplished improvised interpretative dancing to Holland 1945.

Bands were good, Simon is a good bloke, managed a game of pool amongst dozens of guitars. Can't ask for more than that but did get more than that! Thanks all.

I should like to point out that we (Model Village) had an excellent time. Hats off to Simon for sorting a top day.
