My mum has the tiniest poodle ever. I don't really like poodles, they look weird, but this one can actually be quite cute, especially when she's been to the furdresser and had a fur-cut.

And she's a massive poser, she always gets her tounge out when someone is aiming a camera at her.

cocker spaniels are lovely! I love all sort of spaniels! but cocker and english springer is my all time fav. cute cute pictures!

I don't particularly like small dogs, mainly cause they bark and tend to have abnormal big eyes. and they are often much more aggressive then big dogs.

I have a bunch of schnauzers (my mom is a breeder) and one alaskan malamute.

here's a puppy riesen schnauzer and the alaskan malamute.

Here's a heartwarming story for dog lovers:

The Associated Press wrote:ALTON, Ill. (AP) -- An Illinois woman says her beloved miniature dachshund gnawed off her right big toe while she was asleep. Linda Floyd told the Alton Telegraph for a story Wednesday that her beloved Roscoe was euthanized because of safety concerns.

The 56-year-old says she has no feeling in her toes because of nerve damage from diabetes. She discovered the toe missing after waking from a nap Monday. She called her daughter, who phoned 911.

A veterinarian says the toe had been bandaged because of a healing hangnail. That might have somehow attracted the dog.

My friend Iain brought his dog around to our house last night. He's an airedale called Dino, and he's absolutely cracking - this photo was taken shortly before he tried to lick my face...

My housemate's parents' English Setter is going to be at my house when I get home, by itself, while they're all out playing bloody golf. I am good with dogs, but I'm slightly worried that she'll be a bit freaked out by some stranger walking through the door, so I asked him to get his Mum to leave a couple of dog chews outside the door for me to use as bargaining chips. He replied saying that she would, and that 'dogs can smell fear, be cool'. Cheers Pete!

You'll all be pleased to know that I made it through the dog ordeal okay. She was a bit barky at first,

but after a few soothing noises and a couple of dog chews she calmed down. I had to go out and play football shortly afterwards and the eyes she gave me were heartbreaking!

I should add that 'a dog chew' is not a euphemism.

I'm not much of a dog fan but I was going through some old train posters for work today and I came across a whole series of them from the 1940s and 50s encouraging passengers to take their dogs on the train with them. Aw. They also provided drinking water for dogs at the stations and on the train. Aw!

Not only my girlfriend moved in with me, as a free bonus this little monster is now also a permanent housemate:

It appears she's the new boss in our household.

I was tempted to start a 'lovely animal photos' thread especially for this, but isn't this adorable...

That dog does look like it smells a bit though, Andy.

It reminds me a bit of my dead Grandpa. He used to lick donkeys too.

S/he does!

Do you think the donkey is embarrassed?

I think it looks rather content, actually. Aw.
