I have a slight cat-related problem. More of a neighbour issue I think though.
We have a lot of cats in our area. They do a lot of pooing. I clear other cats' poos out of my borders. I am sure someone else has to clear up after mine. Not ideal, but I don't think cats should live indoors unless they have to. Anyways, the gentleman of older years whose garden back-to-backs with mine is a bit garden-proud and has taken exception to this, so has bought a 'sonic cat repellent' as I believe they're known.
Now, I think there is something wrong with the motion sensor on it as this thing is triggering every 10-20 seconds. It emits a 5-10 second burst of a VERY FRICKING LOUD high-pitched tone. This is doing my head in - it's facing my house so makes going into the garden like one of those shipping containers at Guantanamo.
So I went round and did my best polite face to tell him it was driving me demented. Because he's a miserable old sod, he a) didn't give a toss (I've got tinnitus" he said, as though everyone else should be made to suffer it and doesn't believe me. Nor does his neighbour. I tried to explain to them the idea of presbyacusis (i.e. losing your high frequency hearing as you age) but got nowhere. They don't care. They can't hear it. b) The cats don't give a monkey's either as ironically, it's not high enough for it to irritate them. The only pleasure I got from this was watching the guy putting the device to his ear as a 80-100dB tone pummelled his inner ear, him going "No, I can't hear anything..."
He's turned it to face his house. It makes little difference. I just hope the batteries run out soon (and he doesn't notice the flashing light has stopped flashing...)
What should I do next? any thoughts?
"I don't know who you're talking about..."

hee! i like how, in stereotypical cat fashion, one of the first things that happened was that a cat got in a cardboard box.

it's actually a shame it turned out to be an ad. i wish someone had just gone and let all those cats loose in there for the hell of it.

I finally transferred some videos I took of my cat, Orwell, from my old phone*! This is, I think, without a doubt, the best.

*How convoluted is this? I bluetoothed the videos to my NEW phone, emailed them to my work email address, downloaded and saved them before uploading them to facebook, then had to open a youtube account so I could post one of them here!

If only I could've found my cable...

Oh, yes. He tends to run upstairs or makes a break for the catflap whenever she comes in the room.

Unless I'm not there, in which case he'll sometimes be friendly enough that she can actually stroke him!
