She had a hypo fit this morning but its actually possible her diabetes is in remission. Now the hypo's over she's on pretty good form but she's lost more than half a kilo.

We just picked up little Alby yesterday.. he's been an angel the first 24 hours. He's 9 weeks and apart from sleeping for ages in the litter tray upon arrival has been a dream!

Maisieeeee! Hello beautiful! Her whiskers are something magnificent and I totally want to do an Eskimo kiss with her. How is she settling in?

This thread kills me.

She's doing alright, thanks. Quite confident for a nine-week-old kitty in a new home with an enthusiastic four-year-old child. Feeding alright. Pooing in the right place. Squeaking very cutely. Climbing up my arm when I'm trying to type.

You must all come and meet Maisie soon, Anorak!

Oh my. Is it a sphynx? I absolutely love them, but gather they need lots of extra looking after? So gorgeous!

He is a sphynx. Since they have no fur, you have to bathe them and clean out their ears, and their eyes get goopy and need to be cleaned too. Our little fellow seems to have an infection in his left eye; it's hard for him to open it and green/yellow stuff is coming out. We're just leaving to go take him to the vet to get it looked at.

The breed is really mellow though, and ours is especially gentle. When I went to pick him out a month or so ago, his brothers and sisters were all wrestling and playing with each other and he was just curled up in a corner doing his own thing. He rests a lot and really likes affection and purrs constantly.

Dorothy, our other cat, is curious about him but keeping her distance. She's pretty timid around other cats, but she's doing better than I expected.

You need to go watch episode 2 of my cat from hell right now! Sphynxes are not from hell but apparently they are very energetic and inquisitive. I've been watching cute animals on netflix, and now I really want an Abyssinian or a Bengal, but I think we are catted out just now.

Here's are some nice Christmas Humphrey pics for your delectation:

Wow, no one cared about cats in 2014. That's a real shame.

Anyway here's a new one because we are lunatics.

This is Millicent (Millie) née Caramel. She was offered free on Gumtree and was living in a flat in Knightsbridge...

Sam is old. We're giving him antihistamines for his wheezing. He comes in to watch tv for 15 minutes every evening, then goes back off catting.

Our cat,Yoko, sadly died in December at the age of 17 but since we knew we'd be moving soon we put off getting any more for fear of unsettling them.
Finding a new place took a lot longer than expected however so we've been cat-less for ages now! We're moving at the end of the month though so the plan is to get a pair (siblings or parent/child probably) from the rescue place once we've unpacked enough boxes.
Can't wait!

So far this year Henry has been diagnosed with diabetes, changed vets, had major surgery and soon we're going to make him move house. He's still doing pretty well, though.

How have you been dealing with the diabetes? Insulin injections?
