i make all the posters for the gigs i put on in new haven ... some are photoshopped, some are hand-drawn. you can see pretty much all of them in the albums on our myspace page ... http://www.myspace.com/tweefortproductions

Nice work! Lovely poster.

New Haven (or is that "New Halen"..?) is a great town... i played in a bar there a few years ago and it was amazing. Offhand i can't remember what it was called but it was such an awesome little show.

Actually i think it was Rudy's. It was great anyway... i'd never been offered free jagermeister by a barman immediately after a show. Since then, i'm frankly disappointed when it doesn't happen (i.e. every show in the 5 years since, gah...).

ah yeah ... that makes sense for Rudy's ... plus they have great Belgian Frites.

Here's my latest. i'm experimenting with colour for online, and b+w for 'real' ones (as usual).

Hi I'm looking for a company who would do a small run of posters preferably A3 size and not too expensive.... after searching for the right thread to post this on i came across this one.... sorry if it seems like a bit of a hijack but i thought some of you lovely folks on here would know a thing or two...

thanks
Stu

The Brudenell Social Club in Leeds gets theirs done cheap. I'll ask where they get them done when I'm there next. They get short runs of A3. I'm trying to find a place that'll print 200 A2 at the minute and aren't finding anywhere even remotely sane. Anyway, posters! Here's a few of mine.

Upcoming in Leeds...

this may sound like a dumb question (and i swear i used to know this when doing flyers/posters for my old club nights - since i just looked at them and they are MASSIVE) but if you wanna do an A4 poster, or like 4 flyers on an A4 sheet, what pixel size do you use? the resolution is 300 dpi, but what should the canvas size be?

i guess it's best to start off with an a4 poster size and then just use that same file and resize for the flyers, but what size should the canvas initially be (in pixels?) my old ones are like 1288x1288, 300 dpi. i don't know where i got htat number from but i must've got it from somewhere!

the dimensions of an A4 piece of paper are 8.27 × 11.69 (inches)

half a sheet of A4 is A5 and a quarter (therefore four flyers) is A6

the dimensions of an A6 piece of paper are 4.13 × 5.83 (inches)

I dunno, I'm hoping that's the answer to your question there

That's the work of indiehorse. Ace, isn't it? I don't know how it ended up on that site.

Hello, it's been ruddy ages since I got to design a poster. I'm having withdrawals.
Would anyone like to enlist my slave labour?

I've been making lots of posters lately and I'm dead pleased with the results. I'm going to post them here in the hope that people will say lovely things (some have been posted in the relevant gig threads, but non-Londons might not look in those)...
