Hi there

I'm from Malta and The Suburbanite is my musical solo project. Basically it's bedroom pop. The folowing youtube link is the video to one of the tracks. You can download/listen to two others on my bandcamp - the link is in the youtube dropbox.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiadGn29_BU

My main influences are Beat Happening, Daniel Johnston and Jeffrey Lewis

I'm part of a small collective of other bedroom pop artists called SoLoFi , which includes Bark Bark Disco - (who produced the tracks on this ep and directed the video! ). There's a link as well :)

hope you enjoy it!

More than fair! Thank you very much :) You seem to be going all out to flatter me this week!

I quite like it. Weird-simple and catchy. The "oh-oh-oh" thing is now lodged in my head.

Please can you say more about Maltese bedroom pop - artists, gigs, venues, labels, politics etc?

Well, there is now a bedroom pop movement in Malta.

It all began with Bark Bark Disco a couple of years ago. Great tunes and pop sensibility! Their debut album is a totally DIY affair, available entirely as a free download, and making quite a splash on music blogs thanks also to the DIY videos, one of which (Song for The Lovers) went viral with 400k hits.

Morris (BBD) has now started the solo-fi movement which includes BBD and my project (The Suburbanite). He also produced a few tracks for me, including Dance With Me, and the video is also his.

Heyo!

I'm the drummer of Be At Leso, we're a post punk band from Dallas, TX. We're not exactly indie pop, but I love it so that's close enough right?

This is a track from our debut album we recorded this past summer and we would absolutely your thoughts on it. If you guys like it I could talk our frontman into releasing more...

Cheers!

I wrote a new song today, and I'm rather pleased with it.

It's called DAMN YOUR ROBOT ARMS: http://soundcloud.com/vomvorton/damn-your-robot-arms

Love it! Is this a home recording? How do you get your drums so good?

Thanks! I've been using a plug in called EZDrummer that makes assembling quick, decent sounding drum tracks pretty... erm... EZ?

I wrote this song when I got in from band practice last night (around 10pm) then worked on it for a few hours tonight. It's the first demo I've done where everything is played acoustically. I am VERY pleased with it. It's mostly played on my brand new bouzouki, though I also do some banjo on there.

this is cool! i would say definitely track live drums when you record the real thing. EZ drummer is alright, but there's definitely something about the live drums. super catchy, though.

this is my lo-fi pop band, younger siblings. we're from birmingham, alabama. think of us in terms of they might be giants, the moldy peaches (more specifically, adam green), and just about every bedroom pop band from the last however many years. these songs are also pretty atom and his package-y.

http://youngersiblings.bandcamp.com/

we played at the athens popfest last october. it was definitely a religious experience. the people in the band have also been in a ton of birmingham bands. our biggest claim to fame is that our drummer was the last guitarist in p.s. eliot before the girls moved up to new york city.

lemme know what you think!

thanks! yeah, I should probably do some stuff with a real drummer at some point. I'm happy with machines at the moment though!

just finished listening to the younger siblings tracks - great stuff! really nice vibe.

I actually think that's quite a pleasant Pants Yell! cover, especially the whistling.

Well I just recorded a song, I was testing out a mic I borrowed from work. Link here.
