I got a fascinating email from a Professor at the University of the Arts London today. Apparently this here zine of mine is going to have its cover pictured and credited in a new book out next month authored by this Professor! She doesn't know how she got a hold of my zine so it's all totally intriguing. I'm honoured and wonder if there'll be mentions of other zines and zine makers we know in there. I can't wait to see!

Here's the bio of the author and here's an interview with her about her book, Fanzines, conducted by the Birmingham Zine Festival.

Here's a quote from that interview:
Teal Triggs wrote:What are your favourite fanzines and why?

This is an unfair question! With so many different kinds of zines out there and so many different authorial points of view, it is hard to choose a favourite handful. But if I had to say, I have a strong interest in feminism, so a lot of my collection is focused on early feminist and the more recent riot grrrl fanzines. There is such an honesty and passion to what these women are writing about as well as a playfulness in how they design their publications. What’s not to like about them?
Wow!! How brilliant. I'm so completely amazed. Apparently there will be a book launch here in London on Monday, September 20and I plan to attend. Maybe others would be interested in attending too. I'll post more details when I hear about them.

Nice one! She got both your zines, along with a few others, from Caramel - I remember her order from last year because I thought her name was ace.

Oh wow! Thank you so much, you two. Eeee! So happy to hear Bye Bye, Duffel Boy is in there too. I emailed back and forth with her a bit today and I wondered if she might have gotten the zine from Caramel. Aw! I love it. Us. Our writings. The generosity and kindness. The dedication. Wow! This has made my day.

I found this again in my pile of zines a while back. I think it's time for 'Intercity Baby '13'.
