I saw Hexicon live a couple of years back. I thought they were a bit MOR / AOR and they left me completely cold, but this track was one of the best I heard throughout last year; really, really beautiful (even if it could've fitted neatly in to the radio 2 playlist).

The Winter fanzine has now sold out! I've put all of the band interviews up on the website for those who may have missed out on the print copy of the zine.

There you'll find interviews with The Vaselines, Edwyn Collins, Ballboy, Northern Portrait, MJ Hibbett & the Validators and Onward Chariots. Enjoy!

I'm thrilled to announce we’ll be launching our brand new fanzine on Saturday. It features our lead interview with Acid House Kings who tell us all about my favourite album of the year Music Sounds Better With You. I catch up with John Blain Hunt from Butcher Boy about their forthcoming third LP. Our guest DJs on Saturday Help Stamp Out Loneliness give us a track-by-track guide to their eponymous debut album. Plus interviews with those Glasgow boys The Felt Tips and those rascals Horowitz.

Inside you’ll find a write up on Read and Shout by organiser Matthew Stead, Edinburgh’s best indiepop club night Unpop and as well as Librarians Wanted and Stolen Wine Social Club. If that wasn’t enough you’ll get all the latest release news from Pebble Records and KinGem and an epitaph of The Go-Betweens.

On the CD is Weekend Dreams a new compilation from Fortuna Pop! I never thought I’d be involved in putting out a CD featuring an exclusive song from Allo Darlin’ as well as Club 8, Herman Dune, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Darren Hayman and The Lucksmiths.

Here’s the full tracklisting –

1. Comet Gain – The Weekend Dreams
2. The Grave Architects – Love TBC
3. Herman Dune – Tell Me Something I Don’t Know
4. The Loves – O! My Gawd
5. Bearsuit – Cut Loose
6. Evans the Death – I’m So Unclean
7. The Primitives – Need All the Help I Can Get
8. The Mountain Movers – Bombshelter
9. The Pipettes – Captain Rhythm
10. Tender Trap – 2 to the N
11. Crystal Stilts – Silver Sun
12. The Lucksmiths – Good Light
13. Ladybug Transistor – Breaking Up On the Beat
14. Darren Hayman & the Secondary Modern – The Green and the Grey
15. The Pains of Being Pure at Heart – The One
16. The Chemistry Experiment – Leo the Magician
17. Club 8 – Football Kids
18. The Aislers Set- Summer’s Reprise
19. Milky Wimpshake – Eyeball to Eyeball
20. Airport Girl – Clock Tower Lights
21. Allo Darlin’ – Dreaming (DJ Downfall Redub)
22. micktravis – Up From the Minors
23. Would-Be-Goods – The Morning After
24. Jeff Greene and the High Barnets – Dreams of Me and You

All that for £2. If you'd like to mail order please contact me at admin@scaredtodance.co.uk Thanks!

I love my copy of the fanzine, thanks so much. And thanks to the amazing CD I've discovered a few new bands, including the Lucksmiths, even though I've often seen their name round these parts, as a lurker.

Our limited edition Indietracks fanzine will be available to purchase at Scared To Dance on Saturday night!

In the fanzine I speak to headliners Herman Dune about their breakthrough album whilst our favourite Swedish indiepoppers Suburban Kids With Biblical Names talk to us about the importance of Labrador Records.

I catch up with Crystal Stilts as they discuss their recent video shoot, Math and Physics Club tell us about the origins of the band and Milky Wimpshake reveal which new songs they’ll be playing at the festival.

The fanzine will be on sale at the merchandise stall at Indietracks alongside our Spring fanzine. For mail orders please email me at admin@scaredtodance.co.uk. Each copy costs £1.50 plus postage and packaging.

The Indietracks fanzine we put out for last year's festival sold out a while ago so I've put all of the band interviews on the site.

There are interviews with Herman Dune, Suburban Kids With Biblical Names http://www.scaredtodance.co.uk/page/3/

and Crystal Stilts, Math and Physics Club and Milky Wimpshake http://www.scaredtodance.co.uk/page/2/

Enjoy!

I take it you're not doing zines anymore? :(

Not at the moment I'm afraid. When I started putting on gigs in 2011 it kinda took the place of fanzines. I had a chat with Bree who did all of the designs in the past (whilst I did the content) and she's just too busy with her day job and The Understudies.

On the plus side, I got an urge to do another one after reading the pretty good Come Again? fanzine on the way home on the train on Monday and Silja said she would do the designs if I needed someone in the future.

I've confused myself now.

I guess if there's enough people who'd like another fanzine then I'll do one!

Put that on the cover and you won't sell a copy.
