Hey, I was going to do that mix CD for the Deirdres too! It's the evangelist in us, Jamie.

May I suggest:

7. The Aislers Set - The Red Door
8. Rocketship - Hey Hey Girl
9. Sambassadeur - Between the Lines
10. The Clouds - Get Out of My Dream

I was gonna suggest Sambassadeur's "Kate" but I defer to the master!

Yes but it won't have that classic indiepop Manics cover, will it?

I think the Deirdres also need some Helen Love in their lives, 'Punk Boy 1' maybe. Ooh, and Girlfrendo, 'First Kiss Feelings vs. Everyday Sensations'.

I think they need some Comet Gain, everyone needs some Comet Gain - My Defiance would shake things up a bit.
and that snare drum, that drum roll
means we've got a winner

13. sea urchins 'summershine'
14. talulah gosh! 'don't go away'
15. the pastels 'automatically yours'
16. razorcuts 'summer in your heart'

I can do a bit of art, if you want, jamiec

I thought perhaps a musclebound barbarian versus a flying metal shark while a busty slave girl looks on longingly

with plaits

...

I concur with the honourable dave

but I'd suggest 'villain' but I always do (however I'm very partial to 'my defiance' so give some of that to v'kids)

I'd go 'we belong' because it always sums up that certain something about the indiepop community (unless I've heard the lyrics wrong)

but it's your mix, mr collings, so I defer

I think a double cd is in the offing

I've not heard the lines song neither

Melody Dog - Futuristic Lover
Heavenly - C is the Heavenly Option
Primal Scream - Velocity Girl
The Clouds - Get Out Of My Dreams

I love doing indie pop compilations, it makes me very happy! And when I've finished I always have to do a copy for myself to listen too!

It is absolutely fabulous! Full of hooks, great tune, great performance. You can hear it here on The Lines myspace:

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... =169576896" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It will take a listen or two...

And feel free to creep to the Junies any time. I enjoy it ;-)

I would stick the Fire Engines "Meat Whiplash" and The Bodines on that too. The 12" version of Therese perhaps or God Bless?
