Turntable connection to PC.

Post by Trev » Sun Nov 04, 2007 2:14 pm

I am having trouble getting either of my turntables to work with my PC at the moment. They were working a few months ago. Nothing has changed. But they're not wanting to work. Weird thing is, if I open Audacity I can record the sounds and play them back. But no sound through the speakers. Any clue what, if anything, I am doing wrong.

Basically they are connect through a preamp via two RCA connectors (I think that's what they are called) to the preamp. I can record the sound via Audacity but can hear nothing through the speakers. Everything else soundwise is fine with the PC - itunes, winamp, media player, streaming etc.

I am stumped.

Something in the Windows master volume control perhaps. The wee speaker icon in the bottom right corner of the screen, right click on it and play around with all the sliders until you hear music

Fixed it. Weirdly - it seems it was the cables.
