.. is there anything I can do about it?

Its from a place called zeshops - so not a well-known website or anything. They might just have very slow customer service, or they might just have taken my money and be ignoring my complaint. It was only twenty quid but I don't have twenty quid to throw away right now.

Why did you order 20 quid from a not-so-well-known site? Couldn't you have just taken it from an ATM? Sure you've got these in Birmingham too, somewhere.

Seriously, is Zeshops UK-based? (Which is not the same as "having a .co.uk" URL.) It'll help a lot if they are.

Its an album by Cristina, mostly-overlooked but strangely wonderful 70s diva. I could have got it from Amazon 2nd hand but thought it would arrive more quickly from zeshops. OH HOW NAIVE.

I think they're based both in France and Brazil. This doesn't look good, does it??

Does it help if they use paypal, or does that just make things worse?? Can I claim back on my credit card if it never comes? Some of them are insured, aren't they?

I think your best bet would be to look at Paypal's terms and conditions and see if there's a way you can get your money refunded.

In general, when ordering online either go for:
- a Big, well-known company that has proper terms and conditions (e.g. Amazon - if you don't like a book, you can send it back and they'll even pay for postage)
- a small site of which you can more or less be sure about its credibility (for example because you know someone who knows someone who's sister runs the site)

My Deirdres single took an awful long time to arrive, but then it was beautifully hand-crafted and came with a hand-written note that included the word "eek", so all was forgiven.

it's probably worth speaking to your credit card company, they'd at least be able to give you peace of mind or otherwise with where you stand/sit/throw yourself to the floor screaming now

I bought a couple of things from Sanitary Records and it took about five months to arrive. In a way it was good, as by the time it arrived I had given up hope and it was like a surprise present.

That would be nice, if it happened. I'm not getting my hopes up. They seem to be ignoring my e-mails. I wonder if I should attempt to send one in French? At least it would give them a laugh, although I'm not sure I want them to laugh. I want them to be contrite.
