answer the question, dammit

Post by SophieC » Sun Sep 30, 2007 15:07

where in the current modern shopping environment would one be able to purchase a reasonably priced plain black fingerless glove set? the curse of the over air conditioned office strikes once again. i want to able to pick up a ringing phone without my numb fingers causing me to resemble an inept juggler.

can't you just cut the fingers off an existing pair of gloves?

what about driving gloves... or goalkeeper's gloves... you'd get a right good grip on then... or get a telephone headset and keep your hands in your pockets

there's a whole world of adventures you could have with your hands

i don't have an existing pair of gloves. and even if i did i'd like to keep them fingered for casual non-office gloving. perhaps a baseball mitt could be employed and i could get ruth to lob the handset towards my outstretched hand.

you could call her 'babe' ruth

and she can chant 'we want a catcher, not a belly scratcher' at you when you fluff your catch

calm down lad, i'm not joining cameo just yet. my naked hand is not up to the job, a fully gloved hand reduces dexterity. thusly the middle way of a fingerless glove is a practical solution. if you had my circulation lad you'd have hacked your golfing gloves to pieces by now.

I'm nearly 34. My hearts beats slower than a constipated man's poo hitting the water.

Or something.

I have previously got fingerless mittengloves from Blacks. They were good and I always lose them on buses.

i would like the record to show that this post was the first documented use of the word 'racist' on the anorak forum.

JamieC, you should get yourself a pair of shooter mitts. They're well cool - make sure you click the pic to see all the options. One minute they're fingerless, the next you've flipped a flap and you've got toasty hands! Brilliant.

It may or may not be compulsory to go shooting in them.

What Mr C (no relation to the man from The Shamen, as far as I'm aware) needs is a hand warmer. Unfortunately this would require him to predict when the phone is going to ring, in order to warm his hands before doing so, but with his psychic abilities that shouldn't be a problem.

I don't think people should be allowed to have avatars that big, it's all very ostentatious. I suspect it is some kind of ruse. Don't look at them for too long.

But the mitten flaps don't incorporate a thumb flap, do they?
So you'll still have to take them off to roll cigarettes.
Someone needs to invent a thumb/mitten flap hybrid.

Here are some black gloves, six quid from Topman.

Perhaps I could be your personal shopper, JamieC. I'll have you glammed up and looking like a member of The Klaxons in no time.

They're super easy to knit! Hannah just finished some. I say you buy her flowers, chocolates, and/or a spiral-cut ham and ask her to make you some.

Squirrelbooty can Bedazzle them for you.

Yesterday I saw some that would trick people into thinking a)you lost the skin and muscle and everything off your hands b) they had x-ray vision.
