Music Family Trees

I have a new website, and I thought I'd try it out on a friendly audience.

The idea is that it's like Pete Frame's Rock Family Trees, but without the detailed artwork or careful biographical details. Erm, I'm not selling this very well, am I?

Go over to Music Family Trees, enter the name of a band, and it'll draw you a big chart of members of the band, other bands they were in, and people they're related to. It's kind of pointless, but, I hope, kind of fun, too.

If you find any particularly good examples, please let me know and I'll link them from the front page. If you find that some of the detail is lacking, you can correct this yourself by adding connections between artists on MusicBrainz.

All comments and suggestions welcome!

This is really clever! I'm enjoying clicking around and following the relationships to new diagrams.

The search doesn't seem to work though?

edit: actually it does now!

The search works now, but I get an error when I click on one of the search results.

I'd just moved this to a different server and, as you noticed, all of my links went to pot. Think I've fixed them all now.

All seems to be working now. Thanks for sharing, I'll definitely be spending some time messing around with this at work tomorrow!
