Hm, no photography thread? I just got a brand new camera (which is something different, as I usually get really old ones off ebay)

New camera: (!)

I haven't actually tried it out but I ordered film so sooon! (too bad they don't actually sell the right film near here...) I also like polaroids a bit more than is healthy.

Ooh, that's crazy!

I was going to try to get some film from Staples because they claimed they had it for $10 for two packs but they were all sold out. (it was pack film anyways, so not much help if you're looking for 600 film)

Ugh, I hate that they're stopping making polaroid film... I bought a polaroid 104 to use with the fuji instant film they're still making but I haven't tried it yet.

Also I made a case for my Diana!

...but my film is still yet to come in the mail. I hate waiting.

oh, this has just reminded me that i have a half finished felt case for my holga sitting in the corner of the room. damn, i've started too many projects.

love your diana case, it's so cute. i have a feeling i might be getting a diana soon, but we've decided to wait until i'm back from japan as there are too many great cameras to buy over here.

i got this ricoh recently and i am in love, it's beautiful and it takes lovely photos and feels so nice even though it's all heavy from the spring. and it's half frame, so good value too.

Image

i got it from this cute old lady in an antiques shop, and we got the price down a bit because she wasn't sure it worked.

next is one of these:
Image
the blackbird, fly. it's a 35mm toy tlr! there aren't many of those. and it comes in pretty colours. mmm. and at the same time i plan to buy the fuji instax mini 7s, it seems to be a bit cheaper here, or half the price lomo are selling it for.

I don't have any twee retro cameras, but while looking for old Minolta lenses to fit my Sony DSLR I've come across a few of these:

I'm sorely tempted to get one, just because they look so odd!

I'm being sent one of those for free because I'm going to do promo photos for them to use in the marketing campaign for it. Hee. I wish it would hurry up and arrive.
Give over.

oh wow, that's cool. are they going to market it in the uk? i'd never seen superheadz until i came here.
i'm gonna have to wait till i next go to tokyo to buy it. i may have to go sooner than i planned or i'll end up with a huge list of things to buy.

i finished the case for my holga, finally! the pattern was from this book

That's a sweet album cover. I want to see the pictures you took pretty soon. Sounds interesting. I wish I had cameras but I never had the money to buy them.

hee, i got my blackbird fly this weekend. two weeks ago they said they'd sold out of the limited edition colours (yellow, white and brown) so i went back when they got the normal colours in and after spending ages trying to decide between blue and black and chatting to the guy in there he finally decided to tell me that they actually had three of the brown ones left. i was so pleased. it matches my handbag. he also said i was the first person to come in to buy one since they released them.

did you get yours yet obo-bobo?

Good point - no it hasn't arrived yet. The first batch were defective apparently so they only ended up sending mine out about 10 days ago. Is it as cute as it looks?

I got this camera of ebay the other day. It is an old USSR made camera and says "LOMO" in Cyrillic letters. I am currently taking loads of photos with it and am really really curious how they will turn out. Have no idea at all! I am not even sure it works. Let's see...

I had the photos developed and picked them up yesterday. I am really disappointed :-( There are no exciting black spots or frames or light flashes, just blur! The photos are all really blurred and some you can only really see when you hold them far away (like my dad does when he doesn't have his reading glasses on).
I actually think that the ring that you set in order to tell the camera how far the object that you want to photograph is away (you can tell, there is a real pro talking here) is broken.
And now the shutter cock seems to be broken on the camera as well, it doesn't stay down.
What a shame... Does anyone know what I can do about any of the things?
