Sounds like the Risk add-on pack: "Helter Skelter"...
I may be ugly and hate-filled but... wait, what was the third thing you said?

Pockets Filled With Matches are no more, but we still have copies of our e.p. 'If Time Heals You' for sale, if you'd like one

Resurrecting this old thread, as I just played Star Trek Fleet Captains for the first time and was utterly baffled... but I enjoyed making little "warp speed" noises as I moved the pieces.

I've been playing a lot of Race for the Galaxy lately too - I think that's my favourite tabletop game which works with two players.

Aaah board games. I don't get to play them much these days since Ralph discovered Minecraft.

It can't be any more complicated than Star Fleet Battles which must be the most complicated board game ever made. I've got both the basic and advanced rules but never played more than the introductory sub section of the basic rules. It's great though - feels like being a real starship captain! You can even play it solo so maybe I should give that a go to get my board game fix.

I love any game with spaceships in. My favourite is Full Thrust but it involves lots of fiddly measuring distances. Mayday is also great and a lot simpler - I should try and persuade Ralph to play it with me sometime.

Recently (as in about the last two years) I've been trying to collect the old eighties MB Games board game versions of video games but only by looking in charity shops. So far we've got Pacman which is great and Zaxxon which is rubbish (despite having spaceships in it). I really want to find Defender.

Yes.

It is. I've also played Spacefarers of Catan which is not as good as Settlers but kind of better because it is in space!

Some time later, but... Catan is a really wonderful game, I have several expansion packs for it too... used to play it quite a bit with friends in Hull... must make more of an effort to get friends playing it here.
