wah, that's bad news. didn't get round to booking a hotel room after promising myself never camping again due to TWATSTAFF and never ever sleeping. guess we're going to have to build a hotel :(
It's a right bugger. I thought I was being incredibly organised by booking it now, but apparently not.
What are the alternatives? Where the hell are we all going to go?!

I booked mine in December when it was already getting a bit pricey. Got in for Friday-Monday on about £30 a night though.

In 2009 I left it late and ended up staying at the Tibshef Premier Inn a bit further up the M1. Not too far away, but that's only really feasible if you've got a car.

This is insane, as I commented on the Premier Inn thread! I can't believe that many people have been organised enough to already completely fill up the Premier Inn (though I realise that non Indietracks people might be staying as well...but it just makes me wonder if there's another festival on in the area at the time, like in 2009 when there was that metal fest on).

£100 for Alfreton Travelodge? Where do they get off!? It's usually about £65-70 for a 'family room' (double bed, couch) and I know I have booked later than bloody March 1 before. I'm sure I booked into the Travelodge in about early-mid April in both 2010 and 2009. Demand has gone up that much!?

I'm looking at the Premier Inn Mansfield now but having to take a taxi 7 miles every day? Fuck's sake. :-( The camaraderie of staying in a hotel with friends and fellow Indietracks people cannot be quantified. I love it.

Has anyone actually looked on the Travelodge website? its showing from £48 per night! I think you would be looking at £100 for the whole weekend - Sunday is usually cheaper if you search for their cheapest rooms from the main page.

It was definitely asking me for £100 a night yesterday, but thanks for pointing that out. I'm booked now so get in quick everyone. The annoying thing about the travelodge compared to Premier Inn is you have to pay in advance though.

True but it's also much cheaper, isn't it?

Yeah, a bit. I think I paid £60 a night last year for a room at the Premier Inn and right now it's coming up as £72 for the Sunday it has available. Travelodge is £48 which is a pretty good price really.

So who is going to start up a new taxi service in Alfreton - so we dont all end up waiting at Butterly for the only taxi in town.

Thanks very much, Sad Witch. I have also booked us into the Alfreton Travelodge. And it did in fact say £100/night on Tuesday! How bizarre. But now I just paid over £48/night. Yay and score.

I also checked the Ripley Premier Inn for good measure and that one is still sold out.

I think they are having a website overhaul, must've been a blip that day, surely?! as long as no-one paid £100 per night thats ok! (and if they did they should demand a little chef breakfast in bed!)
