i had a dream that andy h and i were loading up a van with sushi to sell at indietracks. he was going to drive the van and i was making sure that the veggie and non-veggie sushi weren't fraternizing.

it must be my flu medication. anyway, i SO wish i was going. have fun, everyone!
tell me how good it is / to wake from a bad dream / and have someone there and I will tell you / how butterfly wings stay dry in the rain

I've got the time booked off work and bought a shiny golden weekend Indietracks ticket.

I need just need my passport to come back from the passport renewing place in Wellington and to find a couple of thousand dollars for a plane ticket there and back and I'm all set for the most expensive Millipedes gig of all time.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

Just starting to put things in stone for The Greatest Indietracks Warm-Up Popshow Of Them All, in Leicester on the Thursday.

...when the venue got in touch to say the Thursday we'd booked has been requisitioned by Stephen K Amos' people, who are apparently going to bring more in than the indiepop community. We're either going to do the Wednesday and lose three quarters of our properly stellar if currently mostly lightly pencilled in bill or find somewhere else, for which read more expensive. Ah, my promoting luck, how are you.

Have you tried telling them that Stephen K Amos is mostly not funny? That might work.

I could, but then they'd point out the bar takings from my last gig and I'd be forced into retreat.

I hope you can find another ace venue which doesn't cost the earth.

Imagine if Anorak ran a venue somewhere, I bet it would be the best venue ever.

Thank you. I've just had email exchanges with two different room bookers that went along these lines.

"Hello. It's likely that I'll want to book your venue one night in the mid-term future, although I'm not sure yet for various reasons. What do you offer?"
"Hi. What's the date and who's playing?"

I know they're doing their business, but I want to know how much extra it's going to cost me before I make that commitment you're suggesting. Gnnh.
