Just checked out m'new tent for the festival. It appears I've bought one the size of the Taj Mahal. Not the same shape though, sadly.

They've updated the golden valley website; it actually has a seperate section for Indietracks under prices now, and a booking form for those people who don't like phoning up.

I'd be interested to know if anyones uses that form; and more importantly if it actually works, as given the organisers have been pretty lax in the past at responding to emails I'm not sure how much better they will be at other web based forms of contact.

I tried using the form - it just ended up giving a quote, still had to ring up to order.

Heh! I wouldn't have expected anything less!

Good old golden valley I'd be disappointed if they somehow became a streamlined, high functioning campsite. Their can do with not much effort attitude works extremely well fo indietracks.

My friend booked this year, and I wondered why it was 5 quid extra a night. Charging for the car? Barstards.
I don't remember actually being allowed to keep my car on there in the past. Wonder if we're paying 5 quid a night, only to park a mile up the road?

Me I'm camping!

Left a message with Golden Valley last night, and the rang me up this afternoon to book my pitch.

So then went into town and bought a tent.

I think, I still have a sleeping bag, but that may need some searching for :)

Not only am I camping next week, I'm taking Joe to Golden Valley this afternoon for his first camping trip. I have an ulterior motive in that I'm picking up a 1983 Raleigh Burner near Derby tomorrow. My midlife crisis is in full swing.

No sign of Curly this weekend but the little pirate bloke was there. I chatted to the younger woman in the cafe and told her I was coming back next week. She said what a friendly bunch we all were.

His name's Brig!

We started chanting his name when he permitted a Lovely Eggs encore at the end of Riots Naw Diets disco on Sunday.

(Although it went on much later the year before and included a conga and only ended when someone climbed the tent pole.
AND THERE WAS A SECURITY DOG)

That's when I was dj-ing, so the conga was entirely my fault (and Harry Belafonte's).

We actually went on for a while after the pole climbing incident, but were asked to "calm things down". We responded by playing Andrew WK.

I'm camping. Bought a tent on next day delivery at the weekend, only to find out today that it's been lost somewhere in transit. This now entails another fork-out of money, as well as a trip to a camping shop, where they probably won't have the type of tent I want. Not happy.

We've never had to park more than 100 yards from our tent. I'm OK about paying a bit extra for car on site - I thought that was introduced last year. It is luxury camping in my opinion, worth the money, plenty of facilities. I don't think I'll ever go back to Reading after Indietracks...

Couldn't agree more... I recall carrying/trolleying/struggling with all my camping gear for a mile (back and forth several times!) at Womad and shambala. One needs more than a G & T after such nonsense!

I'm looking forward to Indietracks

It would be very handy if I didn't have to bring a sleeping bag. This should be warm enough to just sleep in some clothes, or maybe a light sheet, right?

These are daytime temperatures.... It'll be much cooler at night. I have made this mistake.
