Is there music on all three days or is the festival area just open on the first day (26th) but nothing going on? as I don't know whether to arrive on the 25th or 26th?

The site's usually open at about 5pm on the Friday. The bar opens at 5.01pm.

So best bet is to arrive early on friday, go sort out camp site stuff and then head to festival.

Hello Rith we're staying in a Premier Inn right next to the M1 (not so close you the traffic keeps you awake). It's about five miles from Indietracks and we drive there. Lots of Spanish indies stay there every year. I'd be amazed if it's fully booked as we only booked our room a week ago. It never seems full when we stay. If you did come we could give you a lift to the site. Of course you'd have to ignore the warnings about getting into a car with strangers.

It's the Mansfield one. I'm amazed it's fully booked. It never seemed completely full when we stayed in previous years. Maybe Indietracks is getting more popular.

Ok I just tried to book three nights from the 26 and there was availability. It was £127 for a room for one for three nights. I think you should go to the hotel web page and give it a go if you're still up for coming.

You essentially need to book Ripley the day that the dates are announced now. Don't know if indietracks is getting more popular, but people are certainly getting wiser to booking their accommodation.

I don't have a credit card, so I can't book right now. I may have to go for the camping site. Will that be fully booked, or are there usually places available? I'll need to borrow a tent!

I have just paid my deposit for camping at Golden Valley, do they ramp up the price for this weekend.

It would be interesting to hear what others have been charged

... :)

Yep, you get a better choice of pitch the earlier you get there.

Yeah they charge more for Indietracks weekend. Last year I think we paid £25 per night for three nights which covered two people and a tent. Plus they then charge you a fiver to park when you get there. On the plus side I like the camp site, the showers are good and whilst other people have had bad experiences with some of the grumpier staff I've never had any problems.

Is the only way to pay the deposit by credit card? I don't have one.

If anyone booked a room at Moss Cottage last year for this year, then it might be best to give them a call. Your room should still be booked, but the place has changed hands and they now need some credit/debit card details from you, as well as your 'phone number.

It all sounds a bit more professional, which is nice.

And you're at the bar from 4.59pm onwards, pretty much.

What time do the festivities generally begin and at what time do they end of an evening?

On Friday the music starts at about 7 and on Saturday and Sunday, it's usually around 12:30. Curfew is at midnight. The last train back to Butterley on the Sunday night has to be the most emotional five minutes of the year.
