You could get a taxi to and from Nottingham each day for half of that, couldn't you?

yeh, we could, and I did wonder but that did prove to be a pain in the arse doing that the first couple of years and as PontiacB said you could get away for a week in the sun for less but it's Indietracks, innit?- I'd miss the social thing too (hanging out/bumping into folk before and after), unless everyone came back to Nottingham of a night

there's a lot of time between now and then, something'll crop up

I was on the verge of suggesting a minibus, but that means everyone has to be back at a certain place at a certain time, else they get left behind. We did this for a couple of years and it cost something like £6.50 each every day back to Nottingham. You were on one of them, actually... I think. Perhaps both. It's a bit blurry.

yeh, I did that two years running and organised it one year... it's ok but I'd rather be 'in the area' (as in close to the site, wherever that may be)... I've enjoyed staying at the Premier Inn, I'm just feeling a bit cheesed off with them wacking the price up every year (it's about £60 more to stay there in 2014 than it was this year and this year was nearly a hundred quid up on 2011)

it does rather take the piss

I've booked it, but can't believe how expensive it is including breakfast!!! Kinda hoping the date for indietracks will change & it'll be cheaper. Not 100% sure we'll be going next year anyway at the moment, depending on how things work out.

It seems Premier Inn management has gone nuts and they've rised almost 100£ Ripley and 70£ Mansfield for next year's Indietracks weekend.

Have you booked your hotel yet already?

Has anyone threatened to write to Watchdog yet? That always works.

I wrote to them a few weeks back and got an inevitable response that 'pricing is based on demand and rates increase during times of high demand and decrease on nights that are less busy. Our systems monitor this to ensure we're competitively priced and offer good value for money.'

I intend to write back but need to work out my strategy.

Premier Inn at Hucknall are charging £170 for three days. They are classed as Nottingham North West (Hucknall).

I am actually now living in Hucknall, haven't got round to changing my username. From here it is about 15 minutes to the site> I take the M1 at junction 27, leave at j28 and then A38/A610.

While you're at it, ask them why Ripley is seemingly full if booking 2 nights (Fri & Sat) but available if you go for 3 nights?

I wanted to go to Indietracks for the 3rd time in a row (especially after having played last year) but I might not be able to make it this year.
Travelodge is charging £166 for 3 nights which is a +50% increase compared to previous years fees. I could probably afford to pay but this kind of policy is SO pissing me off...

In fairness to Travelodge, the 3 nights when the dates were first announced were only £96, so the fact they're now only £166 isnt too bad. Thats still only £55 a night and STILL pretty much half of what the Premier Inn are charging.

Was planning on staying at the Alfreton Travelodge this year, but seems it's fully booked. Might have to do Mansfield then unless I finally cave in to the Ripley Premier Inn prices.
