Clashes

Post by gltownley » Thu Jul 25, 2013 15:21

I have decided that, because I can't split myself into 2 or 3, I'm not going to get to see everyone I want to this weekend. There are certain acts I definitely want to see, but I need a strategy for when there are a couple of bands I wouldn't mind seeing on at the same time.
So, seasoned indietrackers, what's the best plan? Should I just choose one, or is it realistically possible to catch part of one set and rush over to a different stage to catch the end of another?

Sometimes one stage might be running a little late do you might get lucky. But with about 45 seconds the most you have to walk between stages, you can catch as much or as little as you want!

The exception is the church stage. If you really want to see a band there then you need to make sure you're there a bit early, especially for the headliners. I nipped out for a drink before Joanna Gruesome last year and couldn't get back in, it fills up quick.

Yeah, I'd read on here that the Church gets busy. I'm guessing to have any chance of seeing Haiku Salut, I'll need to get there pretty early. Think it's going to be really busy for them.
Wouldn't mind seeing Monnone Alone either.

You can get lucky occasionally if there is a big draw elsewhere. I was halfway through watching Allo Darlin last year then remembered that Rose Melberg was on in the church, and I just managed to squeeze in at the back just before she started. Don't count on it though!
