SOURPATCH played London Popfest '11 at the Windmill in Brixton.
I was there. Wasn't all that fussed, either..... (despite liking their records and that).
not really here

Whereas i really enjoyed them at Popfest despite feeling particularly MEH about their records..

So in conclusion : Sourpatch.

the beets
the middle ones

On a different note - Neko Case is Canadian, lives in Vermont now (i think), and doesn't sound particulary indiepop - but I still like her - she was also briefly a member of Cub! (and also the new pornographers)

I would take Cub reunion any day!

The Wednesday Club
rough bunnies
withered hand
sloan
saturday looks good to me
neil halstead
love cuts
heathers
katie davidson/dear nora
calvin johnson
bobby wratten
without feathers
the just joans
being nice IS a political act!

I do not believe that I will ever understand what 'indiepop' is but some bands I would love to see at Indietracks 2013 are -

MJ Hibbett & The Validators
Northern Spies (maybe in the church this year, the train was unbearable)
Milky Wimpshake (they need to be there every year)
Shonen Knife
The Smittens
Jeffrey Lewis
Garfunkel & Oates
Laura K

My daughter wants the following -

Northern Spies
First Aid Kit
MJ Hibbett
Tilly & The Wall
Smoosh

neko case was also a go-go dancer with the band girl trouble so if neko case gets asked that would be the perfect excuse to get girl trouble over here too (I'll fill in for neko with some go-go moves if she's just not that into that)

Compilers please note: that totally counts as two votes!

First Aid Kit is a GRATE idea - I'd also suggetst Chris T-T And The Hoodrats, as their new album is a) out next month b) ACE.

As for us playing - we've applied every year, maybe we should try playing hard to get instead?

It definitely is 2 votes. If it would help, my wife also want MJ Hibbett to play Indietracks 2014 as does my brother.

I always thought They Might Be Giants would be a great headliner. They were never really adopted by the indiepop community but musically and aesthetically (about as DIY as you can get for a band at their level), they're perfect.

I liked the bit at the Nottinhgam alldayer yesterday when Matthew (I think?) played Beat Happening "Cast A Shadow", because that made me think of Cub.
I heard the Cub version before I even knew it was a BH cover.
In summary : Cub <3

the school
shrag (reunion why not) they already said the price
superchunk
apples in stereo
chain and the gang
halo halo

and if indietracks wants any HHBTM bands let me know ASAP cause flights in July are so pricey that folks have to start saving way in advance.
i hope to come back with a hhbtm band on tour if they book any. loved the festival, this time sticking around for more than just one day though.
