International Space Station

Post by frankie » Mon Jul 21, 2014 1:50 pm

For those people camping who are hardcore enough to stay up all night (or perhaps you can’t get to sleep for the snoring) – Indietracks this year has been arranged coincide with the International Space Station appearing in the skies over Derbyshire.

It makes two passes per night

Friday Night/Saturday Morning – 01:49 to 01:50
Friday Night/Saturday Morning – 03:22 to 03:27

Saturday Night/Sunday Morning – 02:35 to 02:39
Saturday Night/Sunday Morning – 04:09 to 04:15

If you’re thinking of staying up – get the ISS Detector App on your phone – the last of these 4 passes is the brightest/longest, and of course if the nights are cloudless that will help.

Ace! That more than makes up for the lack of campsite disco. Thanks Frankie :-D.

I was only thinking of this last night. I've got a tracker on skyviewfree or something.

I thought this was going to be a new accommodation alternative.

We actually saw the ISS from our Indietracks Pop Shack! Some of us ran outside at... um, I'm guessing 2:35 on the Saturday night for it!

Or was that to meet the pizza man? Hmm, it's all a bit of a blur.

Still got that app! But never anyone to squeal in drunken delight with.

I've just heard that Sarah Brightman is going to spend a week on the ISS this year!
